Want to be part of an industry that’s driving innovation and sustainability? Siemens Mobility is dedicated to pioneering the future of transportation. Our dynamic team is always exploring new ways to drive innovation and efficiency in rail. We are searching for forward-thinkers who are eager to challenge themselves and make a tangible impact. If you are passionate about creating sustainable and intelligent transport solutions, we want you on our team.
Our Rolling Stock and Customer Service keeps trains running safely and reliably every day. The business delivers expert maintenance, technical support and digital solutions across the full lifecycle of rail fleets, helping customers maximise performance, availability and passenger satisfaction

As Production Manager, you will lead all operational activity across the Gearbox, Motor, Fans & HVAC department within our Goole Components Service Centre, overseeing overhaul and repair work to ensure it is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will be accountable for maintaining optimal cost control, meeting internal and external quality expectations, and ensuring all output is completed within agreed timeframes. Central to this role is guaranteeing that every product and service is fully compliant, fit for purpose, and aligned with both customer requirements and wider business objectives.

You‘ll make a difference by ….
  • Driving production performance across traction gearboxes, motors, fans and HVAC systems, owning manufacturing strategies, policies and ensuring accurate technical documentation and timely service delivery.
  • Overseeing stock, materials and production planning to maintain smooth operations, minimise risk, and ensure uninterrupted workflow across departments.
  • Leading quality control and technical investigations, including failure analysis, safety‑related defect reporting and 8D processes, while embedding continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
  • Managing and developing your team, ensuring effective communication, competency development, performance management, and strong leadership through positive behaviours and example-setting.
  • Ensuring a safe and compliant working environment, implementing HSQE policies, maintaining safe systems of work, engaging with behavioural safety initiatives and promoting environmental responsibility.
  • Championing continuous improvement, introducing new processes, tooling and machinery, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, and driving improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
  • Maintaining compliance and supporting organisational growth, monitoring adherence to internal controls, promoting Siemens’ compliance ethos, leading involvement in quality standards, and supporting apprenticeship development and workforce capability.
Your success will be grounded
  • Proven experience in leading or supervising production teams within a mechanical or electrical environment.
  • Strong technical background supported by relevant Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC or equivalent).
  • Advanced understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and core engineering principles.
  • High level of proficiency with IT systems and office software, with the ability to utilise digital tools effectively in a production setting.
  • Experience coordinating production lines and leading structured problem‑solving activities, including FMEA and 8D investigations
