Siemens Digital Industries Software (SW) helps organizations of all sizes digitally transform using software, hardware and services from the Siemens Xcelerator business platform. Siemens' software and the comprehensive digital twin enable companies to optimize their design, engineering and manufacturing processes to turn today's ideas into the sustainable products of the future. From chips to entire systems, from product to process, across all industries, we accelerate transformation. Siemens Digital Industries Software is one of five business units of Siemens Digital Industries (DI), a leading innovator in automation and digitalization. The other four businesses are Factory Automation, Process Automation, Motion Control and Customer Services.

Start your career with the Strategic Student Program (SSP)

The Strategic Student Program is our formal internship program globally. You will be mentored by guides and again invaluable professional experience. At Siemens, SSP interns get access to an international student network and community, career development opportunities with professional growth pathways, comprehensive practical training throughout the program, access to the Siemens Learning Hub and other training materials, and the opportunity to collaborate on exciting projects within a global, diverse team.

Internship topic: Analysis and prospects for improving Amesim Fluid simulations from 3D CAD models. Opportunity to integrate AI technologies.

What you’ll be doing

Simcenter Amesim software must integrate efficiently with various other software in the CAE ecosystem, particularly CAD software that can manipulate 3D geometries.
Deriving an Amesim simulation model from a CAD model is a common and recurring process for our customers. Amesim offers a CAD import module to facilitate this task, which nevertheless remains complex.
The aim of the internship is to improve the CAD import process into Amesim for the specific case of fluid applications. Each step of this process will be evaluated: import of the 3D model, translation into the Amesim formalism, level of detail of the simulation model, and choice of physical models.

As part of the "Fluid Systems" development team and in collaboration with the "Platform" product teams, your tasks will consist of:
  • Conducting analysis and synthesis of the existing tool by collecting use cases and evaluating the effectiveness of the simulation implementation process for each of these cases.
  • Proposing a list of improvements and investigating the opportunity to integrate AI technologies.
  • Implementing one or more prototypes as proof of concept for the recommendations.

This 6-month internship is based in Lyon (69), France and is available from February 2026.

All about you!

You are pursuing higher education in engineering (BAC+5) or equivalent in France.
  • You have a strong interest in product design by conducting user needs studies and striving to understand and explain the processes implemented by customers.
  • You are proactive, particularly in developing analysis methodologies and benchmark plans and can draft a product plan to propose to the development teams.
  • You are proficient in the development languages Python, C, and C++ and the Qt framework.
  • You have an interest in fluid mechanics.
  • Ideally, you have already used one or more system simulation software programs such as Amesim, MATLAB-Simulink, or equivalent.
