Apply now for the position of R&D Scientist (Fixed Term Contract ending December 2027) and you will lead on assigned activities for new assay development and/or method improvement projects on automated immunoassay products. You will be ensuring the application of scientific statistical principles to design, conduct and analyse multi-variable experiments. This role is based at our Llanberis facility in North Wales.

Your Role:

  • You will perform research, analysis and experimentation for product, process development and improvement of immunoassays.
  • You will participate in interdisciplinary Element Team/ Design Change / Design Transfer meetings.
  • Support team meetings where appropriate, responsible for the timely processing of assigned tasks.
  • Communicate and coordinate the tasks in the function and reports them back to the team.
  • Develop analytical verification protocols for new application, new assay development or lifecycle improvement projects.
  • Support/guide the execution of application (e.g. new allergens) analytical verifications by more junior staff to agreed protocols.
  • Provide technical leadership of projects from concept to transfer to routine manufacturing and launch.
  • Ensure compliance with all company Health and Safety policies and procedures.  To highlight any real or potential Health and Safety issues to management in a timely manner and assist in actioning their decision.

Your Expertise:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Biological Sciences or related field.
  • Industry experience in Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Diagnostics (preferred) or relevant transferrable experience.
  • Commitment, integrity and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to work across different teams and collaborate effectively.
