The Mechanical Services Project Estimator / Senior PM is an expert in creating estimates for mechanical projects. Projects may include direct capital replacement of aging HVAC equipment, design build replacement solutions, energy improvements, Indoor Air Quality Enhancement, and HVAC system refurbishments to name a few.
By growing the service project base across the US they help the Mechanical Services Business Segment achieve profitable growth. This role has a wide range of responsibilities from clarifying the service project scope of work to properly identifying replacement equipment. In addition, this position is instrumental in the local Area cost review to get buy in from the operations team that the estimated costs are accurate.
Work is performed remotely in home office when not traveling to Headquarters or Area locations. When not traveling they will use Microsoft Teams to interact with local Area offices and other national leaders.
As a Mechanical Service Project Estimator / Senior PM, you will:
- Work with local area sales executives to clarify scopes of work and accurate installation information
- Prepare and provide cost estimates for Mechanical Service Projects
- Research and understand Mechanical Systems (Commercial Building HVAC related) including DX Equipment, air handling equipment, chillers, boilers, indoor air quality mitigation offerings, etc.
- Provide value by communicating product, installation, commissioning and maintenance risk factors before and during cost reviews
- Establish draft service delivery schedule in the estimating software
- Interpret customer requirements as needed
- Utilize effective communication skills to proactively interact with salespeople, Mechanical National Business Mangers, Mechanical National Operation Managers, and other internal team members
- Coordinate the overall estimating effort with Service Sales Executives when assigned and align with local operations team during cost review and technical handover meetings
- Deliver outstanding customer service and support to internal and external customers.
- Help service salespeople to establish accurate cost estimates and advise them on the unique service initiatives that can be included in the scope of work to differentiate Siemens from other HVAC service providers.
- Take the lead in creating the subcontractor scope of work and ensuring that there are no scope gaps between trades when subcontractors are required.
- When an estimated project is sold, you will meet with the Assigned local Project manager and helps them plan out the job, reviewing submittals, streamlining delivery, and establish expectation for proper project delivery.

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Experience in sales, estimating, technical field support (HVAC mechanic or similar), or design engineering in direct support of Building Mechanical Systems (HVAC):
- Mid-Level: 3+ years
- Senior Level: 5+ years
- Demonstrated knowledge/aptitude/proficiency in the maintenance and upkeep of the following based on applicable work experience:
- HVAC and mechanical systems (maintenance/repair of chilled water, hot water and direct expansion HVAC equipment)
- Ability to look up identify equipment replacement option for existing equipment (sometimes with minimal documentation)
- Microsoft Office Suite - Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Demonstrated ability of the following based on applicable work experience:
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues and work with teams cross-functionally
- Prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage time effectively and meet deadlines under pressure
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Qualified candidates are required to work in a home-based, virtual environment and may travel up to 25% of the time when conditions require their personal expertise on site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in sales, estimating, or technical field support (HVAC mechanic or similar)
- Current or recent Journeyman Mechanic Rating. Mechanical Engineer or other Industry Certifications
- Demonstrated experience using an estimating/quoting system

The pay range for this position is $120,666 - $206,856 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
