We are seeking a Lead Engineer to join our electrification and automation engineering team with primary location in Espoo, Finland. In this role, you'll drive the technical strategy and growth of our engineering department while advancing your own career in a dynamic, innovation-focused environment. 
Our engineering team delivers cutting-edge technical design solutions for high and medium voltage substation protection and automation systems, supporting utility and industry customers across Europe in their digital transformation journey.

Siemens Electrification and Automation

Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation (EA) is a leading supplier of protective relays and control equipment as well as electrical distribution systems (low and medium voltage switchgear). We work with one of the market's most competitive product portfolios and we handle sales ranging from small product deliveries to large complex product and/or system deliveries.

What are my primary responsibilities?
  • Electrical design of high and medium voltage substation on protection, automation and auxiliary systems including: 
  • Coordination of design works within engineering team with other Nordic Engineering Teams and factories
  • Participation in design reviews at office and on-site
  • Responsible for protection concepts for implementation, in reviewing and approving of technical engineering documentation  
  • Support in technical calculations
  • Support in coordination of subcontractors and procurement
  • Support for our sales organization
  • Depending on experience and preference, you may act as team lead for the engineering team in Finland and the Baltic Countries.
Skills for Success 
  • Electrical or automation engineering degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience in protection and control systems engineering
  • Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) networks 
  • Ability to support team members in engineering tasks
  • Knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English required
  • Experience in a managerial role advantageous
  • Capability to travel occasionally domestically or internationally
