Senior SBA Loan Specialist
This role will play a key part in the successful launch and ongoing operation of Siemens Small Business Lending, Siemens’ newest tool in helping support Siemens support its SME customers. This role will be instrumental in ensuring seamless and efficient processes and will help design and develop a new digital interface for SSBL. In addition, the Senior SBA Loan Specialist will be responsible for ensuring SBA compliance with loans post-consumer acceptance.
The Senior SBA Loan Specialist is a crucial role responsible for all due diligence related to the accuracy and completeness of new or modified SBA loans, from post-customer acceptance through to booking and funding. This individual will work closely with other members of the SBA group and 3rd party LSP’s to ensure all required due diligence and SBA guidelines are met.
You'll stay knowledgeable of all SBA changes and processes and collaborate with leadership to develop comprehensive SBA process and procedure materials. You'll also be a go-to resource for educating our field teams on these critical updates.
In addition, this role will be instrumental in working with other members of the team as we start this new business with a focus of bringing in best practices to create a fully digital, end-to-end process which follows from loan sourcing through portfolio management.

Essential Functions:
- Identify business entity types and collect the corresponding legal documentation required for state or county filing.
- Utilize the loan workflow and specific tasks within the Loan Origination System, identifying best practices and proactively suggesting enhancements to optimize the technological interface for the new startup SBA program.
- Order, review, and analyze all required third-party vendor documents in relation to the collateral to be held on the loan.
- Complete all due diligence associated with the satisfaction of loan approval conditions, as well as customer identification requirements, in a timely manner.
- Verify that loans have been approved by the appropriate level of authority, including approval from SBA, FSA, etc., as appropriate.
- Serve as a point of contact between the lender, underwriter, customer, attorney and/or title company, and the SBA as needed.
- Ensure all required due diligence and approval documentation has been indexed accurately into our system of record.
- Execute a post-closing examination of loan documents for accuracy and completeness and perform upload of documents to the system of record.
- Send loan-specific information to Loan Servicing for core system input and maintenance.
- Ensure proper loan entry/buildout into the Loan Origination System (LOS) SBA Module, with a particular focus on configuring and optimizing the system for the unique requirements of the new startup SBA program and its technological integrations.
- Ensure proper SBA Forms and Disclosures are completed and properly executed at the time of application and closing.
- Submit and obtain SBA Loan approval through E-Tran or SBA One for newly originated SBA loans and SBA modifications as required by the Servicing and Liquidation Actions Matrix as needed.
- Order and review CAIVRS and IRS Tax Transcript verifications.
- Coordinate and execute Letter of Credit documentation for Small Business portfolios.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams to drive the development, testing, and implementation of new digital tools and processes for the startup SBA program's technological interface.
- May mentor more junior team members, sharing expertise on both established and new program processes.
- Ensure compliance with SSBL’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations.
- Complete other duties and special projects as requested by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in Financial Industry including SBA lending
- Thorough knowledge of SBA guidelines and processes
- Experience in SBA financial programs created to address the various needs of small businesses
- Strong knowledge of SBA SOPs, program eligibility, credit criteria, and loan structure requirements

The pay range for this position is $115,668 - $198,288 annually with a target incentive of 30% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
