Position Overview
The National Director – Agent Sales is responsible for leading Siemens Industry’s network of independent sales agents representing the Utility Systems & Solutions (UTL) portfolio across North America. This individual will drive growth through third-party sales channels, ensuring alignment with Siemens’ strategic goals, commercial excellence standards, and customer engagement expectations. The role requires a combination of strategic leadership, relationship management, and operational rigor to elevate the performance, accountability, and effectiveness of Siemens’ agent network.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Developing and executing the national strategy for Siemens’ agent channel to expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and accelerate profitable growth.
- Aligning agent channel strategy with Siemens’ Utility Systems & Solutions business plan, annual operating plan (AOP), and long-term growth initiatives.
- Partnering closely with the UTL Leadership Team, Sales Operations, and Regional Sales Directors to ensure seamless coordination between direct and agent sales coverage.
Agent Network Management
- Overseeing the selection, onboarding, and performance management of Siemens’ authorized sales agents.
- Driving consistency and compliance with the new Siemens Industry Agent Contract, ensuring mutual accountability and value creation.
- Establishing standardized performance metrics, quarterly business reviews, and scorecards to monitor pipeline development, hit rates, and order intake performance.
- Identifying geographic or segment coverage gaps and lead efforts to expand or restructure representation where needed.
Sales & Business Development
- Setting clear sales targets and growth expectations for all agents, supporting delivery of national order intake and revenue goals.
- Collaborating with Product Management and Business Development to drive adoption of new offerings — including emerging portfolios such as Trayer and other growth platforms.
- Providing market intelligence and feedback from agents to influence pricing strategy, offer development, and competitive positioning.
Performance & Enablement
- Establishing KPIs and accountability mechanisms that align agent performance with Siemens’ growth and profitability goals.
- Leading training, enablement, and communications programs to strengthen agent capabilities and consistency of message.
- Fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and shared success across the national agent network.
Your success is grounded in having the following qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales leadership, channel management, or business development within the electrical, utility, or power systems industry.
- Proven success managing manufacturer’s representatives or third-party agent networks at a national level.
- Strong understanding of utility market dynamics, sales processes, and contracting models.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel nationally up to 50%.

Success Indicators
- Growth in order intake and market share through agent-led accounts.
• Achievement of defined KPIs and performance metrics across the agent network.
• Execution of signed and compliant Siemens Industry agent contracts nationwide by mid-December (initial milestone).
• Demonstrated increase in engagement, training participation, and new product introductions via the agent channel.
• Strengthened collaboration between Siemens’ direct sales and agent partners in pursuit of unified market growth.

The pay range for this position is $146,000.00 - $248,000.00 annually plus an uncapped commission structure. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
