The "Start Up Station" is Siemens Mobility North America's internal innovation accelerator, dedicated to exploring, validating, and fostering emerging technologies and business models that have the potential to revolutionize the mobility landscape. It's a vibrant hub where new ideas are cultivated, tested, and potentially scaled, often in collaboration with external startups and internal experts.

About the Siemens Mobility North America Strategy Team:

Our Strategy Team is at the heart of defining Siemens Mobility's long-term vision and growth trajectory in North America. We analyze market trends, assess competitive landscapes, identify strategic opportunities, and develop actionable plans to ensure our continued leadership and success in a rapidly evolving industry. We work closely with executive leadership and business units to translate vision into tangible outcomes.

The Opportunity: Your Dual Role

This unique internship offers a balanced experience, dedicating approximately 50% of your time to supporting the dynamic "Start Up Station" and 50% to contributing to the core "Siemens Mobility North America Strategy Team." You'll gain invaluable insight into both cutting-edge innovation and high-level corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Supporting the Start Up Station (Approx. 50%)

Market & Technology Scouting: Conduct research on emerging mobility technologies, startup ecosystems, and disruptive business models relevant to Siemens Mobility's strategic priorities.
Innovation Project Support: Assist with the development and execution of early-stage innovation projects, including market validation, business case development, and stakeholder coordination.
Ecosystem Engagement: Help identify and engage with potential external partners, startups, and academic institutions to foster collaborative innovation.
Workshop & Event Support: Contribute to the planning and facilitation of innovation workshops, ideation sessions, and pitch events.
Reporting & Communication: Prepare concise summaries, presentations, and reports on innovation trends and project progress for internal stakeholders.

II. Contributing to the Siemens Mobility North America Strategy Team (Approx. 50%)

Strategic Research & Analysis: Perform in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to inform strategic decision-making.
Data Analysis & Modeling: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify key insights and support strategic recommendations (e.g., market size, growth projections, competitive positioning).
Presentation Development: Assist in creating compelling presentations and reports for executive leadership, outlining strategic initiatives, market opportunities, and performance insights.
Strategic Project Support: Provide project management support for key strategic initiatives, tracking progress, coordinating cross-functional teams, and documenting outcomes.
Industry & Policy Monitoring: Monitor relevant industry developments, regulatory changes, and policy shifts that could impact Siemens Mobility's strategy.

Qualifications We're Looking For:

• Previous experience within Siemens.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in creating professional presentations (e.g., PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is essential.
• Demonstrated curiosity about technology, innovation, and the transportation industry.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous internship experience in strategy, consulting, market research, or a startup environment is a plus, but not required.

Who Should Apply?

• Education / Majors: Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS from an accredited college or university and majoring in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Data Science or a related field with strong technical or analytical aptitude
• Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
• Industry knowledge and/or interest

You’ll benefit from:

The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $28 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
