At our Siemens Foundational Technologies Development Center we are focused on a product desvelopment including software development, hardware development, mechanical design, and testing for the next generation concept of Industry 4.0.

Project information: 
We are looking for a mid to senior‑level Software Engineer to take end‑to‑end ownership of communication software within the SINUMERIK product family - Siemens’ advanced CNC system designed for automating and controlling machine tools.

In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for the maintenance, development, and integration of communication software into target products. You will collaborate closely with international development teams located in Germany, Hungary, India, and China.



Your task will be: 
  • Take full ownership of existing communication components across their entire lifecycle
  • Design, develop, and maintain new features
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve unit testing strategies
  • Support the service organization by investigating and resolving reported issues
  • Collaboration with integration testers to analyze reported issues and drive effective bug resolution
  • Maintain clear, comprehensive, and up‑to‑date technical documentation
  • Proactively identify, propose, and drive improvements to existing systems, tools, and processes
  • Work independently with full responsibility for planning, execution, and delivery of assigned tasks
  • Collaborate closely with team members on design decisions, code reviews, and technical analyses
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team


What we will appreciate from you: 
  • Strong hands-on experience in developing communication stacks using C/C++
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with Linux environment and a good understanding of RTOS fundamentals
  • Confidence working with Git and large, long‑living codebases
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, ideally using Azure Pipelines
  • Knowledge of Fieldbus systems and PLCs is considered a strong plus
  • A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Fluent English is required; German is an advantage
