Siemens Cranes has a long history in the electrification and automation of cranes, with more than 7,000 container cranes installed worldwide across various industrial sectors.

We are a global player providing both standardized systems and complete turnkey solutions, including fully automated container terminal solutions.

The market for automated terminals is growing rapidly, leading to more complex systems and an increasing need for specialized machine automation experts.

Job Description
During your internship, you will work on visualizing crane events in a virtual application. The crane events are logged in a logging file; you will create an application to read these files and then control a 3D virtual crane by sending commands via an API software interface:
  • Reading log files in a structured way.
  • Extracting the crane’s positions, measurements, and activities.
  • Controlling a 3D gaming environment via an API.
  • Gathering and elaborating additional application functionalities; you will consult with experts about the requirements and what they want to see implemented in such an application.
This internship can be completed as either a specialization (advanced) internship or a final (graduation) internship.

Who are you?
We are looking for a student who:
  • is studying toward an HBO degree, preferably in electrical engineering, mechatronica, technical computer science or another technical field;
  • has experience or is interested in Python/.NET software development;
  • has good command of English, both spoken and written;
  • is available for approximately 3 months;
  • has a proactive, independent work attitude;
  • is a team player, entrepreneurial, eager to learn, with an out of the box mindset.
What we offer
  • a 3 month internship, 4 or 5 days per week (in consultation);
  • an internship position in The Hague in an informal, professional working environment;
  • a compensation of €700 per month or €750 per month (graduation internship);
  • 1 day of leave per month;
