Proposal Manager – Primary MV Switchgears

We are looking for a Proposal Manager for Primary MV Switchgears, with experience in tendering activities for Medium Voltage switchgears and protection systems, to be hired on a permanent contract in Milan, within the Electrification & Automation area.
In this role, you will contribute to defining the best technical and commercial solutions, supporting and progressively managing the end‑to‑end bid process for public and private tenders, ensuring high‑quality and competitive offers.

As Proposal Manager for Primary MV Switchgears, your main responsibilities will be:
- · Analyze customer requests, single line diagrams and technical specifications in order to identify the most suitable technical and economical solutions, based on the available portfolio
- · Prepare accurate offer evaluations and cost calculations, according to technical requirements, using configuration tools and following all applicable processes and policies
- · Manage the bid process end‑to‑end, with increasing autonomy, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and internal company standards, and delivering high‑quality offers
- · Ensure customer expectations are met across technical, commercial and contractual aspects
- · Take full ownership of standard bids and progressively support more complex or strategic opportunities, with guidance when required
- · Support the Sales organization by contributing to customer relationships, including participation in customer meetings when needed
- · Coordinate and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (Sales, Procurement, internal departments, third parties) to ensure consistency in terms of technical solution, pricing, risk assessment, contractual and safety aspects
- · Collaborate with Headquarters, factories, regional organizations and Product Managers
- · Participate in internal and/or external kick‑off meetings to support a smooth handover from tender to order execution
- · Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal processes, tools, templates and best practices, sharing lessons learned within the team
- · Actively participate in training, knowledge sharing and capability‑building initiatives, strengthening technical and proposal management competencies
To succeed in this role, you should ideally have:
- · At least 3 years of experience in proposal / tendering activities for Primary MV Switchgears or within the electrical / electrotechnical discipline
- · Basic knowledge of tender processes for EPC projects, public customers, international projects or complex plants
- · Solid understanding of MV electrical distribution systems, electrical schemes and tender specifications
- · Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work in a structured, target‑oriented environment
- · Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the motivation to progressively take on broader responsibilities
- · Curiosity for new technologies, combined with a proactive and structured problem‑solving mindset
- · Willingness to continuously learn and grow beyond daily operational activities
- · Effective communication with multiple stakeholders, including senior roles
- · Respect and appreciation of each person’s uniqueness, willingness to co create and share knowledge
- · Availability for national business trips and occasional international travel
- · Eligibility to work in Italy
Nice to have:
- · Experience or exposure to LV switchgears
- · Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design tools
- · Interest in developing commercial, contractual and financial awareness
- · Technical or academic background in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering (or equivalent)
- · Excellent Italian
- · Fluent professional English (written and spoken), required for proposal preparation and stakeholder interaction
