What will you learn?
- How to assemble and set up PCs and laptops, including OS installation, drivers, and basic system configuration.
- Fundamentals of enterprise networking, including DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and basic routing concepts.
- Configuration and support of common IT devices such as meeting‑room displays, Wi‑Fi access points, kiosks, and mobile devices (MDM basics).
- First‑level IT support skills: account setup, password resets, mailbox access, and ticket triage in an ITSM system.
- Practical AV and meeting‑room support, including testing audio/video and wireless presentation systems.
- Hardware troubleshooting fundamentals: identifying faulty components and supporting repair or replacement processes.
- Basics of IT infrastructure on‑site, including cabling, labeling, and rack organization following standards.
- Introduction to backup verification and basic data recovery using documented procedures.
- How to maintain clear IT documentation, asset inventories, and change logs.
- Core security and compliance practices, including access control principles, MFA support, and incident reporting.
What do you need to know?
- The internship is an intensive three months mentoring program;
- After three months, there is the possibility to continue within Siemens;
- You can prove your skills and the capacity to learn and adapt;
- A personal mentor will assist you during the program, helping you achieve various objectives while promoting your development and assisting in planning your career;
- There is a degree of flexibility in your schedule to be worked out together with your mentors;
- This internship is unpaid – it is designed to help you complete your mandatory internship hours required by the University.
What do you need to qualify for this program?
- To be a student in Computer Science or Engineering;
- Basic understanding of Windows OS and introductory familiarity with Linux (from studies or self‑learning).
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS/DHCP; VLANs as a plus).
- Willingness to assist with hardware, displays, projectors, and basic peripheral setups.
- Exposure or interest in tools such as RDP, SSH, basic PowerShell/shell commands, and IT ticketing systems.
- Ability to follow troubleshooting steps, collect basic information, and escalate issues when needed.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; team player with a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to write simple documentation and help keep basic inventories up to date.
- Proficiency in Romanian and English.
