Are you a forward-thinking and aspiring undergraduate ready to take your next steps in the world of digital technologies? Join our Intern Development Programme and see for yourself how it differs from any other. Could this be the next exciting step on your journey to your career? If yes, start your year in industry with us at Siemens Mobility!

This is your chance to learn about how our work impacts everyday life across the world and you could be there at the centre of that work. From learning how a line of code develops into millions of downloads, to exploring the depths and heights of our varying transport projects, build your skills and see how you can be here with us, shaping the future.

This opportunity is part of the East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) team within Siemens Rail Infrastructure in London. Government funding in excess of £1Bn in digital signalling has been announced by the Transport secretary in July 2022 for the ECDP Framework. This involves deploying state of the art European Train Control System technology on the East Coast Mainline, creating the next generation railway. It will transform the capability of the south section of the East Coast Main Line, one of Britain’s busiest rail routes, improving performance and safety through the introduction of digital signalling. This programme is a once in a generation opportunity to improve and transform how the railway works for passenger and freight users.

This programme is the first deployment of digital signalling on an intercity main line railway in the UK and lays the foundation for further deployment across the network, creating a more capable and more efficient railway.

The programme is trail blazing a new path for Network Rail and its suppliers, as well as train and freight operating companies to collaboratively work together in a transformative and collaborative industry model. This is also a step change for Network Rail working to a thin client model, with many responsibilities discharged to Siemens Mobility and the wider supply chain. This allows for a higher level of transparency between organisations and more agile promotion of best practice. For more information on the East Coast Digital Programme click Here.
