This position will act as an engineering leader, driving cross-functional collaboration, and continuous process improvement across the Digital Electrical Solutions (DES) organization. The main responsibilities involved with this role include allocating engineering resources effectively, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service across the solution engineering team, and refining processes to drive engineering performance outcomes. This role will be responsible for two areas of Digital Electrical Solutions (DES), that being the integration of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and Sm@rtGear electrical apparatus, via hardware and software solutions. This role will report directly to the Operations Manager of Digital Electrical Solutions (DES) and have 5 direct reports.
You will make an impact with the following responsibilities:
- This position is intended as a working manager, with an equal concentration divided between solution engineering and team leadership.
- This role defines and sustains policies and processes across the solution engineering project lifecycle (definition, planning, implementation, and warranty).
- This role has a strong emphasis on guiding technical standards and aiding in the development of product design within the DES service portfolio.
- This position guides the development of project specifications, offering support to the business development and order intake team.
- This position’s area of responsibility is primarily tactical/operational in nature, with limited strategic impact.
- This role actively troubleshoots and resolves very complex problems related to electrical design/implementation, networking, and operating system environments.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science.
- 5 plus years of direct related work experience required and may accept advanced degree/education as equivalent for less years of experience.
- Expert in complex power monitoring solutions (WinPM/Powermanager) or Sm@rtGear Technology
- Technical expertise with Utilities, Metering, Networking (TCP/IP, RS485, Modbus), and various Operating Systems (with an emphasis on server environments)
- Time and task management skills (e.g. Project Manager, Project Engineer)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Must possess the ability to travel up to 50% of time
- Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to interface with customers at all levels.
- Experience with the following communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Profibus, OPC)
- SQL database expertise
- Proficient with PLC programming and implementation
- TIA portal expertise
- Ability to manage/track overall productivity of the solutions engineering team
- Ability to develop, implement, and drive continuous improvement in the QA/QC processes related to solutions engineering
- Capacity to drive continuous training in technical knowledge amongst solutions engineering team
- Ability to design, execute, and manage projects with complex power monitoring solutions
- Technical ability to work closely with Product Management to create and maintain technical documents as required
- Ability to maintain and grow knowledge base databases for use by internal and external users
- Ability to manage and develop contract labor force
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to delegate
- Proficiency with Xara, Paint.Net, and other graphical editing software

The pay range for this position is $83,966 - $143,942. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

The pay range for this position is $83,966 - $143,942 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
