Role:
As Technical Sales Representative, you are a sales achiever with the technical and sales talents needed to retain and expand the use of Siemens Communications portfolio with organizations responsible for critical infrastructure across Western Canada.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Ensure a high-quality customer experience at every opportunity
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Drive the adoption of the Siemens Digital Industries portfolio, leading with communications
- Lead the sales process including presentations, relationship building, proposal preparation and closing
- Manage sales via exclusive agents, and vertical-specific distributors: coach and lead consultative selling of complex, highly-engineered, mission-critical systems
Opportunity Management & Target Achievement
- Identify, develop and manage small, large, and complex opportunities, engaging technical resources as needed
- Attend and host trade shows, and other promotional events representing Siemens
- Prepare formal bid packages / tender responses and solutions
- Work closely with internal businesses to develop opportunities, and provide market feedback
- Achieve or exceed annual sales targets, maintain sales pipeline and associated reporting
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, industrial or electro-mechanical engineering, CET, or 6+ years of practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales of data communications equipment and systems within the industries listed below
- Domain expertise in electric power/power systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Rail, and/or heavy Industrial sectors
- Strong technical background in networking (switching, routing, wireless), and ability to clearly explain its application to the above domains
- Experience selling Cybersecurity solutions
- Understanding of the standards, protocols, products, and technologies used in critical infrastructure
- Skills & Competencies:
- Entrepreneur spirit with integrity and strong planning and execution skills
- Customer, and quality focused; able to influence and build relationships at all levels of an organization
- Experience with all stages of direct and indirect sales including demand generation, proposal preparation, negotiation, closing, and after sales support
- Comfortable and experienced managing opportunities with long sales cycles
- Strong verbal communicator with excellent writing skills
- Exceptional presentation skills
- This role requires 50-75% travel within the Western Canada region
- Must possess a valid G class driver’s license in good standing.
- Asset(s):
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent knowledge gained from hands-on experience
- Strong analytical and diagnostics skills an asset
- Data network design, commissioning, training
[Salary is commensurate with experience, and total compensation ranges between $ 185,000 CAD - $ 230,000 CAD including participation in our Sales Incentive Plan, contingent on achievement of sales targets as defined and updated from time to time by the Company.]
