Hardware Test Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Hardware Test Engineer to join our PLM organisation. In this role, you’ll ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of our hardware platforms that support next‑generation engineering and manufacturing technologies. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to design and execute test strategies that help shape robust, industry‑leading solutions.
You'll make a difference by:
- Executing test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts for hardware components and systems.
- Performing hands‑on functional, performance, environmental, and compliance testing of hardware prototypes and production units.
- Debugging hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power measurement tools, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
- Documenting test results, producing clear and actionable reports, and contributing to continuous improvement of test methodologies.
- Supporting root‑cause analysis, reliability testing, and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Your success is grounded in:
The objective for the Hardware Test Engineer is to make a structural contribution to the operational targets that are set for the department and fulfillment of customer orders.
Besides the regular tasks there is the target on continuous improvement, product quality, lead time and costs reduction.
Your main tasks will be:
- Qualification and inspection of hardware (PCBA’s) received from EMS
- Assembly and functional test of electronic PCB’s for measuring systems according customer requirements
- Adjustment and calibration of electronic data acquisition measuring systems according engineering specifications and ISO17025
- Reporting of status, progress and quality control data
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic analysis and repair of electronic hardware
- Support the introduction of new development projects
Required Skills:
- MBO+ electronics or other relevant education
- Experience with ESD handling of electronic PCB’s and testing
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office applications
- Knowledge of electronic components and specifications
- Knowledge and experience with IPC-A-610
- Experience with testing and repair (reading schematics)
- Experience with 5S methods and 4D/8D reports
- Knowledge of LabVIEW appreciated
- Fluently English, written and spoken
