Title: Annotation Specialist

Position Summary:
As an Annotation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of powerline inspection data. You will work closely with data processing and AI teams to validate, annotate, and enhance data quality used for defect detection and asset management.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities of role)
• Running pre-developed Python scripts to support data validation and annotation tasks
• Manually inspecting and annotating electrical components on powerlines using our inventory and AI-based tools
• Verifying the correct identification of components and flagging any discrepancies
• Detecting and documenting unknown or unusual defects on powerlines
• Collaborating with data processing and AI teams to improve annotation guidelines and defect detection processes
• Providing feedback to enhance the quality assurance workflow
• Supporting the onboarding and training of new Annotation team members

What You Bring (required qualification and skill sets)
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Power Systems, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in data annotation, electrical inspections, field surveys, GIS mapping, or quality assurance (preferred but not mandatory).
• Good foundation knowledge of electrical components on powerlines and their functions
• Experience with manual annotation and quality assurance processes
• Familiarity with digital annotation tools, GIS tools, or image labeling platforms (preferred).
• Ability to execute simple Python scripts for data validation
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection tasks
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and annotation guidelines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and contribute to a collaborative team environment
