Siemens Mobility is seeking a Factory Commissioning Test Technician Intern to support our Rolling Stock operations at our manufacturing facility.

Your Summer with Siemens Mobility

As a Factory Commissioning Test Technician Intern, you will be embedded within the Factory Commissioning and Validation team, gaining direct exposure to how passenger rail vehicles are tested, validated, and prepared for customer delivery. You will work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to support electrical and functional testing activities in a production environment.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to understand how complex rail systems are assembled, tested, and commissioned before entering service.

How Factory Commissioning Fits into the Big Picture

Factory Commissioning plays a critical role in ensuring rail vehicles meet safety, quality, and performance requirements before delivery to customers. The team validates electrical systems, subsystems, and functional behavior to ensure each vehicle is compliant, reliable, and ready for service.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

• Support electrical and functional testing of rail vehicle subsystems under supervision
• Assist with continuity checks, insulation testing, and basic troubleshooting
• Help prepare test setups, harness connections, and measurement equipment
• Document test results, issues, and observations in accordance with procedures
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and quality teams in a factory environment

Who Should Apply?

• Education / Majors: Current sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field
• Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
• Preferred: Prior internship, co-op, technical coursework, or hands-on lab experience
• Demonstrated interest in transportation, manufacturing, or rail systems
• Strong communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills

The hourly pay range for this position is $25–$30 per hour, based on projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. Siemens interns are also eligible to contribute to our 401(k) program.

The hourly pay range for this position $25 - $30 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
