Job Purpose:

The Logistics Professional is responsible for the end-to-end monitoring and management of all project-related shipments. This role involves critical collaboration with internal customers, suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure prompt shipment pickups, efficient freight coordination, and vigilant monitoring of shipment costs. A key aspect of this position is the continuous analysis of process efficiency and the implementation of improvements across the supply chain, with a particular focus on projects in Central America and the Caribbean.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Logistics Professional, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Shipment Monitoring & Coordination:
    • Monitor all shipments related to project business from origin to destination.
    • Collaborate closely with internal customers, suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure prompt shipment pickups and efficient freight coordination.
    • Crucially, track and follow up on purchase orders and communicate proactively with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Cost Management & Analysis:
    • Monitor shipment costs diligently, seeking opportunities for optimization.
    • Analyze process efficiency across the logistics chain to identify areas for improvement.
  • Supply Chain Performance & Improvement:
    • Manage the performance of all steps related to project business within the Supply Chain logistics.
    • Measure and analyze the End-to-End Supply Chain to generate ideas and execute activities for continuous improvement.
  • Project Execution & Follow-up:
    • Ensure on-time execution, escalation, and follow-up for all projects, especially those located in Central America and the Caribbean.
    • Address and resolve any logistical challenges or urgencies promptly.
  • System & Documentation:
    • Maintain SAP system for purchase activities, including vendor confirmation, invoicing reception, and order fulfillment.
    • Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and complete for international logistics processes.

  • Analytical Thinking & Data Management: Strong analytical thinking and proficiency in data management to interpret complex logistics information.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Proactive communication and strong collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • SAP & ERP Proficiency: Experience with SAP system maintenance for purchase activities (vendor confirmation, invoicing reception, order fulfillment). General ERP knowledge is essential.
  • International Logistics Expertise: Solid knowledge of international logistics principles and last-mile delivery processes.
  • Project Logistics Management: Proven experience in managing logistics for complex projects.
  • Order Tracking & Follow-up: Demonstrated ability in order tracking and diligent follow-up.
  • Transportation Modes: Experience with various transportation modes, including the handling of oversized cargo.
  • Results-Oriented: A strong drive for achieving results and meeting deadlines.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Preferred Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 – 3 years of experience in logistics or Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Language: Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (both written and verbal) is required for effective international communication.
  • Technical Tools: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • ERP Knowledge: Strong ERP knowledge, with SAP experience being highly preferred.
