Compliance Officer (Business Unit/Country)
Role Overview
This position based in Gurgaon, India, is to head the Compliance function for Siemens Energy India Limited. Siemens Energy India Limited [SEIL or Company] is part of Siemens AG and is listed on Indian stock exchanges. This strategic leadership role ensures that SEIL adheres with the highest ethical standards and complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The position requires strong collaboration with senior management, the Board of Directors, and statutory authorities, while driving a robust compliance culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The focus of the Compliance Officer as Head of the function for SEIL will be to act as a business partner and business enabler, while implementing and managing an effective compliance program covering the defined risk areas. The broad areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:
· Oversee, implement, and oversee an effective Compliance Management System (CMS) covering Anti-Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Trust, Data Privacy, Export Control, and Human Rights.
· Collaborate with business partners such as P&O, Legal but also Siemens Energy Global Compliance and Siemens functions with ambition to seamlessly integrate policies, tools and procedures, as well as timely and effective management assurance on Compliance topics, after required alignment with global stakeholders.
· Perform the role of Export Control Officer and Data Privacy Officer for SEIL, ensuring adherence to the governance policies, controls and regulations. This will also include working with relevant experts on the topics to implement new regulations such as the DPDP Act (Digital Personal Data Protection Act).
· Provide regular compliance updates to the Board and Audit Committee; ensure timely and accurate reporting on compliance status and risk mitigation.
· Confirm compliance with applicable laws, policies, and stock exchange regulations. The Compliance Officer will closely work with legal function and support in providing required statutory and regulatory declarations and enquiries, as applicable.
· Conduct periodic risk assessments, monitor compliance risks on internal tools and define and implement mitigation strategies for emerging compliance risks.
· Supporting investigation team and support remediation measures. This includes supporting internal investigations; oversee implementation of remedial actions and disciplinary measures.
· Develop and deliver tailored compliance training programs to foster a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making.
· Adapt and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders; collaborate with internal governance functions (Legal, Internal Audit, Risk Management) and global compliance teams.
· Leverage data analytics and digital tools to enhance compliance monitoring and reporting efficiency.
What you need to make a difference
· Masters Degree or certification in law, finance, risk management, accounting, auditing, business management or related fields.
· Experience: 18+ years in compliance, risk, audit, or governance roles in large multinational companies, preferably listed entities. At least 7+ years in senior leadership positions managing compliance programs.
· Expert knowledge and experience in Data Privacy and Export Control will be an added advantage.
· Working knowledge of Indian corporate laws, SEBI regulations, and international compliance standards. Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and drive compliance transformation.
· Excellent communication skills; fluency in English mandatory.
