Associate Director – Direct Tax (Siemens Ltd.)

We are seeking talented individuals with both skills and vision to help shape a better future. Become a part of our Tax team, where you will lead a group of dynamic chartered accountants, serve as a role model, and oversee all aspects of compliance with Direct Tax regulations for Siemens Ltd, India and its subsidiaries, covering the following main areas: 
Preparation and submission of Income Tax Returns, along with adherence to tax audit requirements in accordance with statutory deadlines.
Coordinating with tax auditors/statutory auditors for the purpose of Statutory/Tax audit.
Prepare effective tax rate analyses and perform comprehensive annual tax calculations for both current and deferred taxes on a quarterly and annual basis, in alignment with IFRS requirements.
Prepare calculations for both current and deferred tax in compliance with Ind-AS requirements for statutory and tax financial reporting. Prepare Ind-AS tax disclosures, press release. including year-on-year tax and PPR analyses, on a quarterly and annual basis (as applicable) for both standalone and consolidated financial statements.
Ensure best tax accounting practices are followed and maintained.
Preparation of estimated tax computations for the purpose of paying quarterly advance taxes.
Optimizing domestic and international taxes, providing cross border tax advisory, and managing tax compliance for permanent establishments outside India.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and business units, to provide tax-related support for business transactions. Work closely with business teams to develop efficient business models and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulation and assess their impact on Company’s tax position. 
Overseeing the group back-office team to ensure effective management of routine direct tax compliance, including TDS rate determination, payment processing, and return filing. Additionally, providing support by addressing day to day queries and facilitating on time compliance.
Work towards improving processes and ensuring a robust system with regards to direct tax and initiate process improvements and act as a change agent within the organization.
Ensure adequate defense documentation is in place to support the positions taken in the tax return.
Prepare robust tax submissions (including paper book) and coordinate representation at assessments and appeals, including liaising with and briefing senior counsel.
Monitor outstanding tax demand status and proactively pursue stay / rectification requests, orders giving effect, and other similar applications, as well as effectively coordinating with the Jurisdictional Assessing Officer and the TDS Officer (including in relation to international taxation).
Optimize effective tax rates and transaction taxes and tax efficient repatriation of funds.
Assist in tax planning projects and be a major contributor in regional/global projects.
Communicate results effectively to management and non-financial personnel.
Support tax strategy planning and M&A projects, including entity formation, acquisitions, disposals, mergers/demergers, financing, major Capex/Opex expenditures, and supply/service agreements.
Assist in preparing representations on direct tax issues for different industry forums.
Guide other departments by researching and interpreting relevant Tax laws, applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
Driving digitalization and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy of tax compliances and reporting processes.
Provide training on direct and international taxes, offering support to internal stakeholders to boost tax awareness and ensure compliance across the Company.

You are a Qualified Chartered Accountant, and you have 12 to 15 years of post-qualification experience.
You have a proven track record of managing a young and dynamic team of highly motivated tax professionals.
You possess a growth mindset and like to take up challenges.
You are highly motivated, and results driven with a high energy level - have a bias for proactive action.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders.
You have a track record of competent handling of complex tax matters.
Should be up to date on tax laws and rules and have an expert level of understanding of relevant tax laws and rules.
Behaves in a mature and professional manner and shows good character and judgment.
