About the role

At Siemens Healthineers, we are redefining how software is built, scaled, and governed across a global healthcare enterprise. The Product & Life Cycle Excellence (PLE) organization drives this transformation by aligning business strategy with modern software engineering practices, platforms, and tools.
As a Solution Architect – Software Engineering Ecosystems, you will work closely with Product Managers who define the strategic concepts for engineering platforms and practices across Healthineers. You will translate vision into cohesive, scalable, and enterprise-ready solution architectures, while acting as a technical mentor and guide for engineering teams adopting these solutions.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and engineering enablement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architecture & Product Partnership
  • Partner with Product Managers to shape and validate technical strategy for software engineering ecosystems (ALM, DevOps, CI/CD, InnerSource, OpenSource, Cloud, Quality & Compliance).
  • Translate high-level product concepts into end-to-end solution architectures, including tooling, integrations, data flows, security, and governance.
  • Evaluate architectural options and trade-offs with respect to scalability, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and enterprise readiness.
  • Ensure architectural alignment with Siemens Healthineers’ long-term platform vision and business objectives.

Solution Design & Feasibility
  • Design reference architectures, blueprints, and patterns that can be reused across multiple business lines.
  • Prototype and validate concepts through proof-of-value or pilot implementations with early adopter teams.
  • Assess feasibility, risks, and dependencies early, and provide clear architectural recommendations to product and leadership stakeholders.
  • Support Product Managers in addressing regulatory, security, and legal considerations during solution design.
Engineering Enablement & Mentorship
  • Act as a technical mentor and trusted advisor for software development, testing and DevOps areas.
  • Guide teams in best practices for architecture, code quality, automation, testing, and cloud-native design.
  • Review solution designs and implementations, providing constructive feedback and improvement recommendations.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, InnerSource collaboration, AI-enabled software engineering and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Actively participate in collaborating with key technical expert community of every business lines in understanding problem statements and engage in pilots.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to gather requirements, negotiate constraints, and align on architectural decisions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical and senior leadership audiences.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 12–15 years of experience across Software Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on background as a Software Developer and/or DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong programming experience in any OOP language is a must.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale architectures.
  • Solid expertise in:
    • CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and ALM platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub), Test Management systems (e.g., Polarian, MTM)
    • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
    • Automation, testing strategies, and quality engineering
  • Experience with Open Source / InnerSource models and collaborative development practices.
  • Experience in creation of AI agents & MCP Servers is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate evolving technologies, and make pragmatic architectural decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Demonstrated passion for mentoring engineers and shaping technical culture.
What Makes This Role Unique
  • You influence how software is built across a global healthcare organization, not just a single product.
  • You work on strategic, long-horizon initiatives while staying close to real engineering problems.
  • You help shape platforms and practices that impact for teams across Healthineers' globally.

  • • You have options to grow towards Senior Solutions Architect, Ecosystem Strategy Leadership, or Program Leadership roles over time.
