Vacancy: Cybersecurity Security Technical Lead 
Location: Hebburn, England 
Function: Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA)

As a Cybersecurity Security Technical Lead, you’ll play a vital role in developing and delivering solutions that support that power critical national infrastructure - helping us build a smarter, more sustainable future 

You will make a difference by  

  • Supporting and consulting project delivery teams (in development, engineering or service) to design, configure, implement an appropriate secure architecture and product & solution security (software and hardware) which meets customer expectations. 
  • Developing and maintaining Cyber Security Models for new and existing solutions in line with industry and global standards (e.g., IEC 62443, IEC 62351). 
  • Driving improvements in cybersecurity procedures and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance security posture and operational effectiveness. 
  • Creating Factory and Site Acceptance Test documentation and lead cybersecurity testing activities to validate the security of delivered solutions. 
  • Coaching and supporting project teams through security activities across development, project management, and service phases, providing expert guidance on Product & Solution Security (PSS). 
  • Delivering Cyber Security training to internal teams as needed. 
  • Monitoring and reporting cybersecurity status, risks and actions to management in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with all business compliance requirements, including Company policies, Business Conduct Guidelines, and the handling of confidential information. 
  • Championing’ Zero Harm safety culture, promoting safe working practices and contributing to a positive, proactive safety environment. 

Your defining qualities 

  • A minimum Level 4 (or equivalent) qualification in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Network Security or related field. 
  • Cyber security certification achieved or in progress (e.g. ISA/IEC 62443 Fundamentals, CISSP) 
  • Experience in Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control Systems and relevant standards e.g. IEC62443, IEC62351  
  • Knowledge of substation automation, protection systems, and protocols such as IEC 61850. 
  • Good understanding of NIS2 regulation and Security Level requirements. 
  • Familiarity with OT network architectures (e.g., HSR, PRP). 
  • Understanding of network security technologies (Firewalls, IDS, IPSec, SSL)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

Desirable 
  • Knowledge of server administration and virtualisation. 
  • Experience in network design, switching, and routing. 
  • Exposure to IoT and cloud‑based technologies. 
Please note the successful candidate will be required to obtain UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance.
