Today, we are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- Prepare, review, and update preventive and corrective maintenance plans and schedules.
- Execute and supervise maintenance activities per O&M manuals, OEM recommendations, and KPIs.
- Ensure maximum availability of interlockings, point machines, axle counters, signals, and level crossings.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and support rapid restoration of failures.
- Maintain transformers, generators, LV panels, UPS, batteries, breakers, earthing systems, and SCADA power interfaces.
- Conduct electrical fault analysis, load checks, and ensure safe isolation procedures.
- Maintain fiber/copper networks, switches, radio systems, PA systems, and telecom racks.
- Perform telecom diagnostics, link testing, terminations, and service restoration.
- Oversee HVAC systems in equipment rooms, ensure proper cooling, ventilation, and filtration.
- Monitor fire suppression, lighting, small plumbing, and general facility utilities vital for system rooms.
- Ensure accurate asset records and maintenance history in CMMS (IBM Maximo).
- Monitor asset lifecycle, obsolescence, and manage spare parts inventory.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports and reliability KPIs.
- Coordinate with customer, operations, OEMs, and contractors.
- Provide technical coaching to engineers and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with railway safety rules, HSE regulations, and company procedures.
- Ensure availability and calibration of tools and test equipment.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, Control, or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Experience with signaling, power, telecom, and MEP maintenance.
- Experience with CMMS systems (IBM Maximo preferred).
- Arabic (fluent) and English (professional working proficiency).
- Preferred: IRSE license, OEM certifications, IOSH/NEBOSH.
- Working Conditions
- Shift-based work including nights and weekends.
- On-call duty for fault response.
- Field-based work near live railway infrastructure under controlled conditions.
