Transmission & Distribution Technical Consultant Internship
- Applying transmission and/or distribution power system model topology changes.
- Analyzing transmission and/or distribution power systems through steady state, short circuit, or transient stability studies.
- Conducting research on the processes and guidelines for load and generation interconnections to the power grid & new challenges for the future of the grid.
- Working with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world.
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering. Candidates not graduate before Spring 2027.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship. Part-time work during the school year may also be available.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Familiar with C/C++, Java, Python or SQL programming languages.
- Familiarity with Distribution Power System Simulation Software and Transmission Power System Simulation Software.
- Working knowledge of applications of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Discord.
- Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse groups and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Self-starter with good time management skills and the capacity to effectively prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.
The hourly pay range for this position $31.00 - 31.00 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
