We are looking for a Project Material Planner - Electrification and Automation, to be hired with a permanent contract in Milan within the Electrification and Automation.

Your Challenge

As Project Material Planner - Electrification and Automation your mission will be the key owner of all Project Materials for Medium Voltage switchgear projects, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and reliable material flow throughout the entire project lifecycle. Working side‑by‑side with Project Managers from kick‑off to contract closure, you will guarantee that cabling teams are constantly supplied, enabling flawless project execution.

You will coordinate all resources involved in the material process, proactively optimizing availability, stock levels, and delivery timings to keep production continuously fed. Through your contribution, you will directly support project On‑Time Delivery, Cash Flow, and Margin results, ensuring operational excellence in every phase of execution.

Your main activities will be:

  • Ensure all projects (especially Flow) are continuously supplied with the necessary materials in coordination with PMs.
  • Prepare and validate the monthly Material List, checking quantities against Hard Inventory levels.
  • Manage the purchasing of required materials and coordinate with suppliers, factories and subcontractors.
  • Support strategic planning for long‑lead items and identify related risks.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries to secure alignment with project schedules.
  • Ensure cabling teams receive materials on time to prevent production stops.
  • Alert PMs about major supplier delays and communicate impacts on timing and cost.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards on material arrivals, stock levels, needs, and trends.
  • Lead recovery action plans in case of supplier delays.
  • Provides on-request support for proper risk/opportunities assessment and mitigation at tendering stage
  • Monitor stock levels and support forecasting, maintaining strong relationships with factories and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

  • Proven and solid experience (3+ years) in operations management within the electrotechnical sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Three‑Year Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Availability to travel to Siemens or third‑party factories and construction sites when required, to lead and/or support contract discussions and project status checks.
  • Strong goal orientation and customer‑satisfaction mindset, combined with initiative, autonomy, and effective teamwork skills.
  • Passion to never-stop growing
  • Respect and appreciation of each person’s uniqueness, willingness to co create and  share knowledge
  • Proficiency in English and Italian
  • Eligibility to work in Italy
