Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Engineer is responsible for ensuring the timely and prepared execution of maintenance activities through effective management of the maintenance backlog, work orders, materials and permit readiness, and weekly/daily schedules, thereby improving maintenance productivity and reducing unplanned downtime.
What are my responsibilities?
· Develop and maintain weekly and daily maintenance schedules (preventive + corrective) aligned with production priorities and available downtime windows.

· Ensure work order readiness by confirming job scope, estimated labor hours, required skills, spare parts, permits, and special tools before scheduling.
· Coordinate with Procurement to secure parts availability, manage kitting, and support critical spare parts planning.
· Improve CMMS data quality: work order creation standards, failure codes, close-out notes, time booking accuracy, and materials consumption tracking.
· Create and update standard job plans, task lists, and time estimates to increase planned work and execution efficiency.
· Track schedule execution and drive schedule compliance; communicate constraints and reschedule proactively when priorities change.
· Support planning and coordination of overhauls, including work breakdown, resource planning, sequencing, and progress reporting.
· Coordinate and integrate contractor activities into the schedule (scope, permits, access, safety requirements, and site readiness).
· Prepare and present weekly KPI dashboards (e.g., PM compliance, planned work %, backlog aging, schedule compliance) and lead follow-up actions with maintenance and production stakeholders.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
· BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
· 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment within maintenance planning/scheduling (or maintenance execution with strong planning exposure).
· Strong hands-on experience with a CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, BEAM or similar): work orders, job plans, PM plans, backlog, history.
· Good understanding of maintenance processes: PM/CM, backlog management, planning, permits/LOTO readiness, spare parts coordination.
· Strong Excel skills (Power BI is a plus) for analysis, capacity planning, and KPI reporting.
· Ability to coordinate across teams (Maintenance, Production, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, EHS) with strong communication and stakeholder management.
· Solid problem-solving and prioritization skills; able to work in a fast-changing production environment.
