Experience: 
• 3+ years’ experience in Product Design & Development of Low Voltage Switchgear – Controlgear (MCB, RCDs, Fuse & their Accessories etc.)
• Hands-on experience using 3D modelling Software viz. NX, Pro-E/Creo with Product Data Management software viz. Teamcenter.

Role & Responsibility:
• Ideating concepts as proposals to meet the product requirements received.
• Develops mechanical metal & plastic components & assemblies to meet the product features. 
• Creates mechanical 3D models, 2D drawings with functional dimensioning, tolerancing & GD&T including documentation and specification for parts, assemblies, or finished products.
• Defines & documents the product structure documentation (BOM) in relevant database tools e.g. Teamcenter & SAP.
• Execute activities in product data update (Teamcenter, NX / Creo, PMD, SiOS, Manufacturing systems etc…)
• Identifies and selects raw materials (metal and plastic), surface coatings appropriate for Part/Product Requirements.
• Amendment / Engineering changes on the existing products in Teamcenter.
• Interaction & teamwork with Cross Function Team, Tool Suppliers, Assembly Suppliers for approvals of Parts & Product assemblies. And validation of product in development & type tests.
• Building Product prototypes and R&D Test samples.
• Checking for conformance with applicable part / product standards and relevant guidelines. 
• Contributes to team effort in development of competitive products and solutions & improvement through Suggestions, Cost Reduction measures.  
• Creates Purchase requests for the Expenses e.g. prototype parts & New Investments.
• Plans, co-ordinates and tracks activities in own area of technical responsibility.
Other Skills, Knowledge & Experience (Preferred)
• Knowledge of customer applications for Switchgear products, e.g. MCB, RCDs, Fuse & their Accessories etc.
• Knowledge of relevant product standards. IEC 60947, IEC 60898, IEC 61008, IEC 60269 etc.
• Follow department processes and Documentation as per ISO 9001.
• Interpersonal & Communication skills for effective cross-functional working.
• Knowledge of product development process (PLM), methods (FMEA, Risk Analysis, Value Analysis, Reverse Engineering).
• Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies.
• Analysis / Simulation of Structural, Mechanism, Electro-thermal and Electro-magnetic will be an added advantage.
