The role - challenging and future oriented
Reporting to the Head of Sales for the Rail Infrastructure business within Siemens Mobility, the Business Development Manager for Mobility Software Solutions, UK & Ireland, will be pivotal in building on our existing UK Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) markets, bringing innovative data-driven technology solutions used across the world to the UK Transport industry to support its passenger growth, sustainability and operational efficiency ambitions.
Based in the UK, the successful applicant will be accountable for the sales performance for intermodal software in the UK&I region, including creating new market opportunities, sales orders and driving sustainable revenue growth.
You'll be resposible for...
- Cultivate new and existing business relationships with clients and partners in the UK through direct engagement and industry events.
- Craft and implement national business development, sales and account plans.
- Actively drive revenue growth through business development and sales activities from prospect identification to contract award.
- Provide continuous analysis of external and internal factors to inform the business's current and future strategic positioning, including the impact of UK Rail Reform, market intelligence etc.
- Report on sales activity and target status to UK&I leadership team and global stakeholders, including participating in international sales meetings.
- Follow UK&I internal sales processes and align with our global Software Business Unit to ensure strategy alignment.
- Collaborate with global Software Business Sales teams to ensure knowledge sharing and best practice.
What do I need to qualify for this role?
The ideal candidate will have adequate professional experience to engage with senior/CXO leadership in our customer organisations to ensure they maximise the potential from our technology solutions. Preferably with existing partner networks and relationships in the transport industry or regional transport authorities, they will be able to demonstrate market understanding as well as excellent relationship building skills, proven market development and sales target achievement. A good understanding of data-driven technology is essential with ideal candidates having expertise in intermodal software solutions such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) and Solution as a Service (SaaS) business models. The candidate should be entrepreneurial, commercially minded, and agile and must excel in collaboration, relationship building, and communication, preferably with experience of working closely with global colleagues.
