We are looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer – Observability & Operator Interfaces (Python) | Kavach Wayside
You’ll make a difference by:
- Primary Languages: Python (automation, log parsing, reporting) + optional Web/UI automation exposure
- Component Focus (you may work across): NMS (observability), Event Logger (evidence), SM-OCIP (operator console) with integration visibility
- Role Summary
- You will validate observability and operator-facing behaviors (alarms, health views, event logging, operator workflows) and automate checks/evidence packaging for repeatable verification.
- You’ll make an impact by
- Validate NMS alarms/health indicators and confirm correct raise/clear behavior under fault/recovery
- Validate Event Logger completeness/correctness and link evidence to test cases and scenarios
- Validate SM-OCIP operator workflows (alarms, acknowledgements, status) and ensure evidence capture
- Develop Python utilities to automate alarm/event checks, log correlation, and evidence packaging
- Support regression packs for monitoring/console flows and assist defect triage with clear evidence
- Your success is grounded in
- Strong Python skills for automation, log parsing/correlation, and report generation
- Experience testing monitoring/observability or operator console systems
- Evidence-driven reporting mindset and attention to traceability/coverage
- Strong troubleshooting with multi-source logs and clear defect documentation
- You’ll benefit from
- Web/UI automation experience (e.g., validating dashboards/console flows) where applicable
- Experience integrating automated checks into regression cadence
- Exposure to safety-critical documentation discipline and audit readiness
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Working Style / Competencies
- Evidence-driven mindset suitable for safety-critical and audit-ready environments
- Strong problem solving with structured debugging and clear written communication
- Collaboration across development, lab/simulator owners, and configuration/test management stakeholders
- Ownership of commitments (plan vs actual) and continuous improvement mindset
