We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer - IT Asset/Application

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive IT Asset/Application Engineer to join our dynamic team at Siemens FT Mobility. This critical role will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management of IT assets and applications, with a particular focus on Asset Classification and Protection (ACP) activities across our cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in securing and managing assets within Azure, AWS, and on-premise cloud solutions, and will drive efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment of our IT landscape while ensuring robust protection of our valuable IT resources.
  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Asset Classification & Protection (ACP): Lead and manage all aspects of Asset Classification and Protection for Siemens Mobility's IT assets and applications. This includes defining classification schemes, implementing protection measures, and ensuring adherence to security policies and compliance standards.
  • Protection Concept & Operation Manuals: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Protection Concepts and detailed Operation Manuals for critical IT assets and applications, ensuring clear guidelines for secure handling, configuration, and operational procedures.
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM): Oversee the entire lifecycle of critical business applications, from planning and acquisition to deployment, maintenance, and eventual retirement, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • IT Asset Management (ITAM): Develop, implement, and maintain robust IT asset management strategies, including hardware, software, and cloud resources, to optimize utilization, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with licensing and security requirements.
  • Cloud Environment Security & Management: Manage and optimize application deployments and asset utilization across diverse cloud-native environments (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and on-premise cloud infrastructure), with a strong emphasis on securing these environments and the assets within them.
  • Security Risk & Vulnerability Management: Proactively identify, assess, and manage security risks and vulnerabilities related to IT assets and applications. Develop and implement mitigation strategies, coordinate penetration testing, and oversee remediation efforts to enhance the overall security posture.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between IT, business units, security teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate security posture, and ensure seamless application delivery and support while upholding protection standards.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all IT asset and application management activities comply with internal Siemens policies, industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001), and licensing agreements, with a strong focus on data and asset protection.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements to ITAM, ALM, and ACP processes, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance efficiency, security, and effectiveness.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate comprehensive reports and provide insights on IT asset utilization, application performance, compliance status, security posture, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Extensive experience (5-8 years) in IT Asset Management, Application Management, or a similar role, with a strong focus on security and protection.
  • Proven expertise in Asset Classification and Protection (ACP) frameworks, data classification, and implementing security controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing Protection Concepts and Operation Manuals for IT systems and applications.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with securing cloud-native platforms, specifically Azure and AWS, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption.
  • Familiarity with on-premise cloud solutions and hybrid cloud environments, and their associated security challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of Security Risk Management, Vulnerability Management, and incident response processes.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL principles and practices, particularly in Service Asset and Configuration Management, and Information Security Management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and security vulnerabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including security teams.
  • Experience with ITAM and security tools/software (e.g., CMDBs, SIEM, DLP, IAM solutions, vulnerability scanners) is a significant plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, ITIL) are highly desirable.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends in cloud security, ITAM, and data protection.
