We are looking for a Software Engineer- Data Engineer / Data Analyst

• Siemens FT Mobility is seeking a talented and versatile Data Engineer / Data Analyst to join our dynamic Platform team. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives on transforming raw data into actionable insights and robust data solutions. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our data pipelines, as well as developing impactful dashboards and analyses that drive critical business decisions. • Key Responsibilities:
• Data Engineering & Integration:
• - Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable ETL/ELT (Extract, Transform, Load / Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines across a variety of enterprise systems.
• - Develop robust data models and schemas that effectively support diverse analytics use cases, including reporting dashboards and individual data analysis.
• - Integrate data seamlessly from heterogeneous source systems utilizing various methods such as APIs, dedicated data connectors, and file-based exchanges.
• - Implement complex data transformation logic using a range of tools and languages, including SnapLogic, SQL, PL/SQL, DAX, Python, or PowerQuery (M).
• - Ensure the scalability, performance, reliability, and data quality of all developed data flows and pipelines.
• Data Analytics & Visualization:
• - Design, build, optimize, and maintain compelling Power BI dashboards that provide clear, meaningful, and actionable visual insights to business stakeholders.
• - Collaborate closely with domain experts across the organization to meticulously refine calculations, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to accurately reflect business needs.
• - Perform ad-hoc data analysis to uncover trends, identify root causes, and support strategic decision-making.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• - Work closely and effectively with international colleagues located in Germany and the Czech Republic, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• - Actively clarify business and technical requirements, propose innovative technical solutions, and communicate progress, challenges, and results proactively and transparently to all stakeholders.
• - Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing data expertise to achieve shared goals.
• Technical Skills (Must-Have):
• - 2-4 years of hands-on experience designing and building data solutions.
• - Strong experience with Power BI including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Data Modeling, and M / PowerQuery.
• - Proven experience with Oracle APEX development (building Pages, Forms, and utilizing PL/SQL within APEX).
• - Solid knowledge of SQL, specifically with Oracle SQL / PL/SQL, and experience with Snowflake.
• - Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, or API integration tasks.
• - Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT workflows and designing/implementing data transformation pipelines.
• - Experience with enterprise data integration methods (e.g., APIs, data connectors, ingestion of CSV/Excel/JSON files).
• - Good understanding of data warehouse concepts and best practices.
• Soft Skills:
• - Strong analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
• - Proactive, reliable, and self-organized working style, capable of managing tasks independently.
• - Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with remote teams across different time zones.
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• - A continuous learner, eager to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the data space.
