Supplier quality Assurance Professional (Incoming inspection)

The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Professional ensures that all incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts meet defined quality requirements before release to production. The role includes supplier quality management, incoming inspection control, non-conformance handling, continuous improvement of incoming quality processes, and coordination of crisis management activities in the event of supplier-related quality issues. in alignment with global quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare product-specific and part-specific Control Plans for incoming inspection activities.
2. Ensure latest drawings, specifications, control plans, and material standards are available and accessible to incoming quality inspectors.
3. Define inspection methods, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria based on drawings and applicable standards.
4. Maintain document control and revision management for inspection-related documents.
5. Train and guide quality inspectors on proper measurement techniques and inspection procedures.
6. Ensure correct utilization of measurement equipment and support compliance with calibration requirements.
7. Ensure visual inspection, dimensional inspection, and verification of raw materials in accordance with drawing and material specifications.
8. Maintain accurate incoming inspection records, test results, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and the Incoming Non-Conformity Log.
9. Ensure traceability and proper documentation in accordance with QMS requirements.
10. Identify, document, and communicate incoming material non-conformities to suppliers and ensure timely containment and corrective actions.
11. Coordinate with Cross Functional Teams (CFT) for disposition of rejected materials considering production priorities (e.g., sorting, rework, deviation approval, or rejection).
12. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using structured problem-solving methodologies.
13. Monitor implementation and effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and ensure verification of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
14. Manage 8D reports, including tracking, follow-up, and closure with suppliers.
15. Monitor supplier quality performance using defined KPIs (e.g., Goods Acceptance Index, failure rate, non-conformity cost, etc.).
16. Participate in or conduct supplier audits (e.g., VDA 6.3, incident-based audits) and support supplier development activities.
17. Support annual supplier performance evaluation.
18. Coordinate with Production, R&D, Purchasing, and Product Quality teams to ensure effective incoming quality control and timely resolution of quality issues impacting production.
19. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming quality processes.
20. Participate in internal audits, external audits, and customer audits as required.
