Position: Lead Bid Sales Engineer – Technical
Experience: 15–20 Years
Location: Gurugram
Business Unit: Turnkey Electrical Solutions (EHV / HV / MV / LV)

Role Summary
We are looking for a senior technical sales leader to drive winning bids and business growth for large turnkey electrical projects. The role combines bid leadership, customer acquisition, and go‑to‑market execution, with ownership of key pursuits, early customer engagement, and team leadership.
You will act as a trusted technical partner to customers and a strategic enabler to sales—converting opportunities into profitable orders and long‑term relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Bid Leadership

Own end‑to‑end bid strategy and execution for EHV/HV, MV & LV turnkey projects (AIS/GIS substations, protection & control, automation, MV/LV panels).
Analyze RFQs and tenders to define win strategy, differentiation, pricing, and risk positioning.
Support sales in customer meetings, technical presentations, clarifications, and negotiations.
Drive competitive benchmarking and value engineering to improve hit rate and margins.

Business Development & Go‑to‑Market

Lead early customer engagement, specification influence, and technical prescription with utilities, EPCs, consultants, and developers.
Support new customer creation and white‑space identification across utilities, data centers, infrastructure, and industrial segments.
Contribute to go‑to‑market strategy, standard solution development, and market positioning.

Team & Cross‑Functional Leadership

Lead and mentor a bid team of 2–3 engineers, ensuring quality, speed, and commercial discipline.
Collaborate closely with engineering, sourcing, finance, and projects to deliver optimized, compliant, and profitable offers.
Own bid governance, timelines, and approvals with clear accountability.

Governance & Excellence

Ensure adherence to internal costing, risk management, and approval frameworks.
Drive digitization and proposal automation for consistency and efficiency.
Maintain reference projects, cost models, and standard bid libraries.

Leadership & Behavioral Expectations

Customer Centricity: Acts as a trusted advisor focused on customer value and long‑term relationships.
Sales Mindset: Strong commercial orientation with focus on growth, margins, and market share.
People Leadership: Coaches and empowers small teams to deliver consistently high performance.
Collaboration: Influences across functions to align teams behind a common win strategy.
Strategic Thinking: Looks beyond individual bids to build pipeline, influence specs, and shape GTM plans.

Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (mandatory); Master’s preferred.
15–20 years of experience in bid engineering / technical sales for EHV/HV/MV/LV turnkey projects.
Proven experience leading a team of 2–3 members.
Strong exposure to T&D, industrial power systems, data centers, and infrastructure projects.
Deep knowledge of IEC/IS standards, protection schemes, grid codes, and substation design.
Strong commercial acumen, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Exposure to SAP/ERP, AutoCAD, and electrical design tools is an advantage.
