Job Title: MRP Controlling Professional

Job Summary:

The MRP Controlling Professional is a critical role responsible for optimizing our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to ensure the efficient and timely availability of materials for production, while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This individual will be the subject matter expert for MRP parameters, driving system configuration, analysis, and continuous improvement. They will play a pivotal role in balancing customer service, production efficiency, and inventory investment.

Key Responsibilities:

•MRP System Management:

o Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and continuous optimization of MRP parameters (e.g., lot-sizing, safety stock, reorder points, planning horizons, lead times) within the ERP system ([e.g., SAP, Oracle, 
  Dynamics 365]).

o Ensure MRP settings accurately reflect current business strategies, supplier capabilities, and demand patterns.

o Conduct regular audits of MRP master data and settings to identify and correct discrepancies, ensuring data integrity.

•Planning & Execution Support:

o Analyze MRP outputs (planned orders, purchase requisitions, exception messages) and provide guidance to material planners and buyers to ensure timely material procurement and production scheduling.

o Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Sales teams to align MRP strategies with production plans, purchasing forecasts, and customer demand.

o Proactively identify and resolve potential material shortages or excesses, recommending corrective actions.

•Analysis & Optimization:

o Perform detailed analysis of inventory levels, service levels, and material availability to identify opportunities for improvement.

o Utilize simulation tools and "what-if" scenarios to evaluate the impact of changes to MRP parameters and planning strategies.

o Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to MRP effectiveness, such as inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and material availability.

• Process Improvement & Documentation:

o Lead initiatives to enhance MRP processes, leveraging system capabilities and best practices.
o Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for MRP configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
o Participate in cross-functional projects related to supply chain optimization, system upgrades, or new product introductions.

•Training & Mentorship:

o Act as an internal subject matter expert, providing training and support to colleagues on MRP principles, system functionality, and best practices.
o Foster a culture of continuous learning and data-driven decision-making within the planning team.

Qualifications:

•Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
o APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is highly desirable.

•Experience:

o 3-5+ years of progressive experience in an MRP, Production Planning, or Supply Chain Planning role, with a strong focus on MRP systems configuration and optimization.
o Demonstrated experience working with a major ERP system ([e.g., SAP MM/PP, Oracle SCM, Microsoft Dynamics AX/365]) is essential.
o Proven track record of improving material availability, reducing inventory, and enhancing planning efficiency through MRP parameter management.

•Skills & Competencies:

o Deep understanding of MRP logic, planning strategies, and associated master data (BOMs, routings, lead times).
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
o Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools).
o Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills,with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
o Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
o Experience with demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management techniques.
