What do you contribute?

Railigent X is Siemens Mobility’s open IoT platform leveraging AI and big data to transform rail asset management.

As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you are responsible for building, operating and evolving the core platform services that enable our development teams to deliver scalable, secure and reliable applications. You work at the intersection of platform engineering, DevOps and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Kubernetes-based environments.

  • In your role you design, build and operate Kubernetes-based platform services across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • You develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (GitLab, ArgoCD) and implement as well as manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
  • You support and enable development teams in adopting platform services and best practices.
  • Furthermore, you contribute to platform architecture evolution and continuous improvement, while also implementing and supporting IAM integrations and security best practices (OIDC/OAuth, Keycloak).
  • You ensure platform reliability, scalability and observability as well as implement and improve monitoring, logging and tracing setups (e.g. Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Finally, you support application onboarding and migration to the platform and proactively identify optimization opportunities, driving automation wherever possible.
 

What do you bring along?

  • You hold a Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification.
  • You bring several years of experience as DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer.
  • Also, you have a strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • You have practical experience with GitOps (ArgoCD or similar) and with observability and monitoring tools (preferably Dynatrace).
  • You possess a solid understanding of IAM concepts (OIDC/OAuth, Keycloak).
  • Furthermore, you have working experience with cloud environments particularly AWS.
  • You demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive working style.
  • You are able to work independently and drive topics forward and have good communication skills in a global team environment.
  • You are fluent in English, German skills are nice to have.
