As Siemens Commodity Manager/ Purchasing Council Manager (f/m/d) Cables you will be responsible for designing and driving Siemens’ global Cable strategy for a global purchasing volume of approx. 230 million EUR. From developing deep market and supplier intelligence to steering demand and ensuring competitiveness, resilience and sustainability across the value chain, you will play a central role in shaping impactful solutions for Siemens' supply chain.

You’ll create impact by 

  • Commodity Strategy
    • Developing and executing the global cable commodity strategy while steering and harmonizing global demand.
    • Applying advanced analytical capabilities to assess challenges, shape long term strategies and guide organizational direction.
    • Driving sustainability and resilience initiatives and delivering productivity programs with measurable outcomes.
  • Negotiations
    • Defining and executing global negotiation strategies and leading major contract negotiations with a strong focus on compliance, risk mitigation and value creation.
    • Introducing innovative negotiation concepts, influencing outcomes across stakeholders and setting new standards in strategic negotiations.
  • Supplier & Risk Management
    • Managing and developing strategic supplier relationships, including conducting top management meetings with key partners.
    • Strengthening long term supplier performance, fostering innovation and securing supply chain resilience.
  • Stakeholder & Community Leadership
    • Heading the global Purchasing Council (PuC) community and ensuring consistency and transparency in commodity and sourcing decisions.
    • Leading cross functional initiatives, aligning diverse stakeholder priorities, and building a strong global network.
  • Communication Skills
    • Communicating complex topics clearly and convincingly, inspiring action across functions, and tailoring messages effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Capability Development
    • Driving continuous knowledge sharing while enabling digitalization and advanced data modeling initiatives.
    • Fostering a leadership culture based on accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and resilience.

This is how you'll win us over 

  • Education: Master’s degree in engineering or MBA preferably with a strong technical affinity
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Extensive professional experience in procurement, commodity management, supply chain leadership, ideally within international industrial environments - alternatively, deep cable industry expertise combined with e.g. substantial sales experience.
    • Proven ability to combine strong commercial acumen with deep industry knowledge 
    • Demonstrated success in translating strategy into action and leading teams to deliver results.
    • Proficiency in negotiation, moderation and presentation skills. International experience and intercultural adaptability as well as experience in leading global teams are desirable.
  • Ways of working:
    • Bold and authentic leadership with strong communication skills, effectively coordinating teams across complex matrix organizations.
    • Ability to balance strategic thinking with precise execution, turning complex challenges into pragmatic solutions.
    • Innovative and stakeholder focused mindset with experience in leading intercultural teams and building strong global supplier networks.
  • Languages: Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is highly valued
