What will you do?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team in Siemens Manufacturing Facility in Concord, ON. This individual will be responsible for securing materials to support production and business operations. You will work collaboratively with suppliers, engineering, procurement, and other cross functions to ensure timely delivery to meet the required demand and asset targets, alongside managing vendor relationships and optimizing inventory strategies to meet company targets. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of supply chain processes, preferably in the electronics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials to align supply with demand
- Manage the commercial relationship with external vendors
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance
- Control inventory at optimal levels for all commodities within buyer’s responsibility
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall efficiencies
- Drive solutions to close supply gaps and mitigate risks to production schedules
- Arrange and coordinate cost-effective shipments for all related materials
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management and material handling processes
- Resolve any issues that would prevent the receipt of materials into stock
- Resolve invoice-related issues as necessary
- Lead operational/escalation calls with suppliers and closely monitor on-time delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in SAP to allow for accurate material requirements and production planning
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and company policies
- Support and execute ad-hoc tasks assigned by the SCM SM leadership team
What will you need to succeed?
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, or certificate) in Supply chain/ Logistics or Engineering
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, suppliers, and priorities with minimal supervision in challenging conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across local and global teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using SAP
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of the Siemens MI & DCP product portfolios with expertise in supply chain and material planning will be an asset
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 60,000 CAD - $ 80,000 CAD excluding bonus and benefits.
