We are recruiting for an Outstations Technician to join us at Siemens Mobility – Rolling Stock Customer Services Business. Working out of our Clapham site and other surrounding customer locations, you will undertake maintenance of the depot rolling stock and plant, and carry out associated activities that support the operation of the depot.
Please note that this role is shift-based and the working pattern consists of a rotating shift pattern of nights and days. We will also require you to complete some mandatory online testing for this role. Due to the requirements to comply with legal responsibilities imposed on us by the Working Time Regulations, ROGS Regulations and other Railway Group Standards, we advise that successful candidates are based up to 1 hour from the depot.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Undertaking maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan.
- Carrying out advanced fault finding and diagnostic activities
- Assisting other team members with the development of technical skills.
- Producing complex, analytical technical reports on fault investigation.
- Assisting with the provision of technical support at incidents off depot.
- Providing first line support at Stations and undertaking any other duties as and when required
What you’ll need to succeed…
- Relevant experience/NVQ Level 3 (or above) in a relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical and electrical fault finding, ideally within a rolling stock, rail, or similar engineering maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards, including COSHH, manual handling, biohazards, and the correct use and care of tools, equipment, and PPE.
- Ability to accurately complete maintenance records and produce detailed technical reports in line with procedures.
- Competency in using diagnostic tools and technology, including laptops for fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation and engineering publications effectively.
