Join Siemens Electronic Board Systems, a global leader in electronic design automation, for a hands-on internship that bridges cutting-edge software development with crucial infrastructure innovation. As a Software Engineer Intern on our Infrastructure team, you'll be instrumental in building tools and systems that directly elevate the quality of software for development teams across the organization. This is your exciting opportunity to contribute to solutions that empower engineers to deliver compliant, high-performance software for mission-critical electronic systems worldwide.
Your Impact:
- Innovate Developer Tools: Design and develop robust integration pipelines connecting static analysis tools (like Coverity, SonarQube), open-source vulnerability scanners, and software composition analysis platforms (like Black Duck) with defect management systems such as JIRA.
- Automate Compliance: Craft elegant Python/Shell scripts and CI/CD workflows (Jenkins/GitLab CI) to automate compliance reporting across complex software products and diverse operating environments.
- Drive Code Quality: Collaborate with experienced engineers to implement insightful metrics dashboards, tracking code health trends and pinpointing areas for continuous process improvement.
- Share Knowledge: Document system architectures in Confluence, create comprehensive developer onboarding guides, and present engaging technical demonstrations to cross-functional teams.
Tech Stack You'll Master:
- Languages: C/C++ (for legacy systems), Java (for core platforms), Python (for powerful automation)
- Tools: Static Analysis (Coverity, SonarQube), SCA (Black Duck), CI/CD pipelines
- Environments: Linux-based systems, Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure)
We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of programming coursework with a strong grasp of object-oriented principles (C/C++/Java).
- Demonstrated experience writing Python scripts for workflow automation or complex data parsing.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and comfortable navigating Linux command-line environments.
- Ability to systematically debug and extend existing codebases.
- Excellent technical communication skills for effective collaboration with senior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to static analysis tools or software composition analysis.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and pipeline design.
- Coursework or projects in software DevOps practices.
- Experience with REST APIs and system integration patterns.

The hourly pay range for this position 18 - 50 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
