As Project Manager External, he/she should responsible to manage all processes related to the assigned project, including project management, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning (if any) activities within the Protection and Automation Solution business. He/she will strive for continuous improvement in profit, cash flow, and on-time execution and completion.

You’ll create impact by:

 

  1. Project Management: Full responsibility for managing assigned projects, including:

a.     Establishing the project organization and master schedule.

b.     Controlling, monitoring, and reporting project progress with respect to delivery schedules, quality, and cost performance.

c.     Evaluating project specifications and translating them into project data sheets for the project team.

d.     Clarifying, negotiating, and resolving project-related matters with internal and/or external stakeholders.

e.     Determining and procuring project components/materials/services.

f.       Executing project closure activities.

g.     Preparing technical documentation to support commercial staff / Commercial Project Manager in invoicing and supporting other commercial matters as necessary.

  1. Engineering and Production Support: Supporting the engineering and production/ order processing teams in communication and coordination with factory/panel makers and suppliers.
  2. Proposal Management Support: Assisting proposal management teams to enhance competitiveness.
  3. Additional Tasks:

a.     Supporting other Project Managers in the execution of their tasks as required.

b.     Facilitating knowledge sharing within the Project Management team.


Your defining qualities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, or a related field and additional certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) are preferred.
  2. Typically 2–10 years of relevant project management experience in the protection/automation, or power transmission and distribution
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams (e.g. engineering, production, procurement) and external stakeholders (e.g. customers, consultants, and suppliers).
  4. Able to manage customer expectations and address technical and commercial clarifications effectively.
  5. Solid understanding of Protection and Automation systems, including relay protection, SCADA, substation automation, and related IEC standards (e.g., IEC 61850).
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications relevant to protection and automation systems.
  7. Capable of planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects within scope, timeline, and budget.
  8. Skilled in risk management, resource planning, and stakeholder communication.
  9. Understanding of project financials, cash flow management, and contract terms related to project delivery. Also ability to support invoicing and commercial discussions with customers.
  10. Ability to handle project-related issues promptly and independently, with a focus on achieving customer satisfaction and business objectives.
  11. Proficiency in English for technical and business communication.
  12. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project meetings, FAT, site coordination, etc.
