What will you do?
As a Financial Analyst, Sales & Commercial, you will act as a key finance partner to DI Sales organization, ensuring commercial excellence, profitability, and risk control across all customer transactions for the DI Project and System business.
You will be responsible for quotation governance, pricing validation, customer and business analysis, asset management and Commercial project management, while ensuring full compliance with Siemens’ financial policies, internal controls, and governance standards.
Commercial Governance & Quote Control
- Collaborate with Bid and Sales teams to review and approve customer quotations and commercial offers in accordance with Siemens guidelines, delegation of authority, and price/margin targets
- Validate costing, pricing structures, and profitability of bids and proposals
- Identify opportunities to optimize cost structures and improve price/margins
- Serve as a key finance contact during T&C negotiations, covering commercial topics such as payment terms, credit limits, warranties, and risk provisions
- Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiations involving legal or regulatory requirements, coordinate with Legal on deviations
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of quotation and approval processes
Sales Controlling & Performance Analysis
- Perform detailed margin analysis (order intake, revenue, contribution margin) across customers, products, and segments
- Monitor order backlog / order-on-hand to ensure timely revenue recognition
- Deliver regular and ad hoc reporting (e.g., price-to-margin, volume performance, pipeline quality)
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for the Sales organization
- Coordinate with Order Processing to ensure timely execution aligned with customer requirements
- Partner with Sales and Credit teams to manage overdue accounts and collection performance
- Support monthly closing, reporting, and financial reviews
- Ensure compliance with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines (IFRS), internal controls, and governance standards
- Maintain accuracy and transparency of financial data in SAP and reporting systems
- Perform P&L and Balance Sheet analysis
Customer Insights
- Analyze customer procurement behavior, purchasing trends, and profitability drivers
- Identify risk areas and growth opportunities based on customer financial and commercial data
- Provide data-driven insights to support Sales in negotiations and strategy development
- Drive transparency in customer-level profitability and value creation
Commercial Project Support (CPM)
- Support assigned projects from a commercial and financial perspective, acting as a finance partner to Project Managers
- Perform project financial planning, cost tracking, and profitability analysis (including revenue, margin, and cash flow)
- Monitor project performance versus plan, highlighting risks and opportunities and proposing mitigation actions
- Ensure accuracy and transparency of project financials in SAP and reporting systems
- Support change order pricing, contract reviews, and claim-related financial assessments
- Contribute to project reviews and reporting, ensuring alignment with Siemens financial guidelines and governance
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred
- 3+ years of experience in finance, controlling, or commercial finance roles
- Proven experience in sales controlling, pricing, or commercial governance
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, margin management, and cost control
- Experience in industrial and/or project-based environments is an advantage
- Solid understanding of quotation processes, pricing strategies, and contract terms
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel; familiarity with Power BI or AI-driven analytics is an asset
[Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 80,000.00 CAD - $ 100,000.00 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of up to 10% of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.]
