Job Purpose

To ensure stable, efficient, and standardized operation of critical railway manufacturing machines (wheelset press, wheel balancing machine, and bogie load test machine) across all product variants. The role focuses on process stabilization, continuous capability development, operator training, and direct contribution to production output through machine operation.

  • Establish and stabilize machine processes for:
    • Wheelset press machine
    • Wheel balancing machine
    • Bogie load test machine
  •  
  • Directly operate machines (wheelset press, balancing, and load test) as required.
  •  
  • Ensure production targets are met without compromising quality and safety.
  •  
  • Act as a benchmark operator demonstrating best practices on machine operation.
  •  
  • Support production during critical situations (high load, absenteeism, new product ramp-up).
  •  
  • Develop and maintain optimal process parameters for different product types.
  • Analyze process variations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure repeatability and consistency in machine output (quality, cycle time, reliability).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma where applicable).

  • Develop in-depth technical expertise on all assigned machines.
  •  
  • Monitor machine performance (OEE, downtime, rejection rates).
  •  
  • Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams for:
    • Preventive maintenance planning
    • Breakdown analysis
    • Machine upgrades and modifications
  •  
  • Validate new products/processes and ensure smooth industrialization.
  •  
  •  
  • Keep self updated and certified on machine operations, controls, and safety.
  •  
  • Develop structured training modules (SOPs, Work Instructions, Skill Matrices).
  •  
  • Train operators, technicians, and engineers on:
    • Machine operation
    • Process parameters
    • Quality checkpoints
    • Safety practices
  •  
  • Conduct competency assessments and certify personnel for machine operation.
  •  
  •  
  • Ensure product quality meets specified standards and customer requirements.
  •  
  • Monitor critical parameters influencing:
    • Press fits
    • Balancing accuracy
    • Load test performance
  •  
  • Support quality investigations (NCRs, CAPA).
  •  
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  •  
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Process stability across all product types
    • Machine OEE & downtime reduction
    • First-time-right (FTR) production / rejection rate
    • Production target achievement (including direct machine operation contribution)
    • Training coverage & operator certification levels
    • Audit compliance and documentation accuracy
