Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is looking for a motivated Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to help foster a safety-focused culture at our Sacramento Light Passenger Rail and Locomotive facility. This role works alongside multiple teams to identify hazards, manage risks, and ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.

The EHS Professional is highly visible and active across the manufacturing campus, supporting daily EHS operations and helping to improve EHS programs and management systems. Strong technical skills, collaborative problem-solving, and effective communication are essential for influencing safe behaviors.


What your day-to-day will look like:

EHS Program Implementation & Compliance

  • Support and improve Siemens Mobility EHS programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the site.
  • Review new equipment and projects for EHS impacts, offering recommendations as needed.

Hazard Identification & Risk Management

  • Work with teams to proactively identify and address workplace hazards.
  • Develop and track corrective actions, support JSAs and risk assessments, and provide on-floor coaching.

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure prompt documentation and closure of corrective actions.
  • Analyze EHS data to identify improvements and report key performance indicators.


To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (rolling stock or heavy manufacturing preferred).
  • Professional EHS certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CHST) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.


Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms.
  • Ability to perform overhead work and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Full-time, on-site role within a manufacturing environment.

This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The salary range for this position is $89,556 - $105,264. This is a first shift position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
