Software Test Engineer - Playwright

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer – Playwright.
You’ll make a difference by:
• Leading and executing detailed manual testing for complex software systems, ensuring high standards of functionality, performance, and usability.
• Designing and maintaining comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases aligned with business and product requirements.
• Developing and enhancing automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) to ensure scalable and reliable test coverage.
• Building robust automation scripts for UI workflows, regression testing, and automated test data creation.
• Driving end-to-end test automation for applications across edge, cloud, and smart building environments.
• Identifying, capturing, and analyzing frontend and backend performance bottlenecks, and recommending optimizations.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (development, DevOps, product) and stakeholders to align testing efforts with business goals.
• Integrating Playwright-based test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality validation.
• Supporting hardware setup and lab management activities for integrated system testing environments.
• Documenting test strategies, methodologies, execution results, and learnings for effective reporting and knowledge sharing.
You’ll win us over by:
• Holding a degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech/M.Sc) with a strong academic record.
• Having 4–5 years of experience in software testing with a balanced exposure to manual and automation testing.
• Demonstrating at least 3 years of experience in testing cloud-based applications, with a good understanding of distributed systems.
• Bringing 2+ years of hands-on experience in Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Being proficient in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or C#.
• Having domain experience in Smart Building technologies (building automation systems, IoT edge devices, etc.).
• Being familiar with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git, Jenkins, or similar.
• Demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Possessing excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working directly with partners and stakeholders.
Good to have:
• Experience with test data generation frameworks.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware setup/assembly.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and HTTPS.
