Can we energize society and fight climate change at the same time?
At Siemens Energy, we can. Our technology is key, but our people make the difference. Brilliant minds innovate. They connect, create, and keep us on track towards changing the world’s energy systems. Their spirit fuels our mission.

Our culture is defined by caring, agile, respectful, and accountable individuals. We value excellence of any kind. Sounds like you?

In this role, you’ll interact with a wide range of interfaces, including other engineering groups, external customers, and partners, to ensure the successful execution of various Siemens Energy projects related to turbogenerators. You will review plant process designs, conduct hazard analyses, and create essential documentation and reports that ensure our projects meet the highest standards of safety. Join us in making a tangible impact in the energy sector!

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:
You will take responsibility for the full safety lifecycle in accordance with IEC 61511 and IEC61508, including concept development, design, implementation, verification, validation, and operational support.
You will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of functional safety and other safety topics in the area of turbo generators and synchronous condensers.
You will be responsible for Safety Lifecycle Documentation & Deliverables.
You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, or approving key documents across the safety lifecycle.
You will organize hazard identification and risk assessment studies, including:
HAZID
HAZOP (in line with IEC 61882)
LOPA
SIL determination and verification

You will define and specify Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) and develop Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS), ensuring clear, testable, and auditable requirements.
You will advise on the implementation and validation of safety requirements.
You will verify implemented safety functions and create evidence documentation.
You will perform SIL classification, verification, and validation, including reliability calculations (PFDavg/PFH), architectural constraints, and hardware/software assessment.
You will review and approve system architectures, cause-and-effect matrices, and interlock philosophies for turbo generators and balance-of-plant integration.

You will support commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing, ensuring that safety functions perform as intended under real operating conditions.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering with a background in electrical engineering and process engineering or a comparable qualification.
At least 3-6 years of experience in turbo generator systems, rotating equipment, or power plant engineering/operations.

Ideally, you have professional experience in the field of planning for process plants, power generation and distribution plants or in the field of functional safety / technical plant safety.
You have strong understanding of relevant standards:
IEC 61511 / IEC 61508, IEC 60034-3, ISO 12100 and IEC 61882
Practical experience in functional safety engineering in accordance with IEC 61511 or IEC 61508.
Experience with SIL assessment techniques (e.g., LOPA) and safety lifecycle documentation
Experience with organizing and conducting risk analysis workshops (e.g. HAZOP)
Experience in Instrumentation and Control System technology
A structured, analytical mindset with a high level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
You like to work in a team.

We’ve got quite a lot to offer. How about you?

This role is based at Site (Gurgaon). You’ll also get to visit other locations in India and beyond, so you’ll need to go where this journey takes you. In return, you’ll get the chance to work with teams impacting entire cities, countries – and the shape of things to come.
