Job Title: Site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager
Employment Type: Full-TimeThis position is for new factory expansion / Greenfield Transformer factory project - Purple Elephant (Site/location to be finalized)

About the role:

The Site EHS Manager is responsible for delivering operational EHS support to the site leadership and workforce, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company standards. This role provides visible, proactive EHS leadership and acts as a champion for a zero-harm culture and employee wellbeing throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Communication
Serve as a visible and active EHS leader on-site, promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing.
Implement safety communications and campaigns across the site.
Organize monthly safety representative meetings and disseminate outcomes.

Incident Management & Investigations
Receive, review, and document safety observations and verbal reports.
Conduct initial incident risk assessments and escalate significant events.
Lead root cause investigations and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
Communicate investigation outcomes and preventive measures to the workforce.

Emergency Preparedness
Display emergency response plans in site offices and welfare facilities.
Facilitate emergency drills with Siemens Energy and subcontractors.
Monitor emergency equipment availability and readiness.

Reporting & Documentation
Develop and distribute weekly EHS site reports.
Notify relevant stakeholders of EHS incidents per project protocols.
Archive all EHS documentation related to mobilization, installation, and commissioning.
Ensure proper closure of incident workflows and project documentation.

Site Operations & Inspections
Conduct site inspections and fire risk assessments.
Ensure required EHS notices and documentation are posted and accessible.
Verify safe storage and documentation of hazardous substances.

Project Mobilization & Planning
Ensure Health and Safety Plans and other EHS documents are available and understood.
Set up EHS project folders and establish EHS representatives.
Publish and maintain meeting minutes and project files.

Safe Systems of Work
Ensure all personnel understand and acknowledge project-specific SSoW.
Develop task-specific risk assessments and method statements for non-routine tasks.

Visitor & PPE Management
Manage visitor registration and compliance with site EHS protocols.
Control and track loaned PPE and maintain related records.

Training & Competency
Deliver site inductions and record attendance.
Provide project-specific EHS training and toolbox talks.
Verify certifications and conduct competency checks.

Subcontractor Oversight
Monitor subcontractor compliance with approved RAMS.
Report non-conformance and escalate issues as needed.

Monitoring & Assessment
Perform routine and ad-hoc inspections during all project phases.
Record inspection outcomes and report unsafe acts or conditions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 12+ years of experience in site-based EHS roles, preferably in energy or construction sectors.
Strong knowledge of local and international EHS regulations.
Proven experience in incident investigation and emergency response planning.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Certification in NEBOSH, BCSP, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.
