Our Siemens business unit Motion Control (DI MC) is one of the world's leading providers of products, systems, solutions, and services in the field of Motion Control. This includes around 10,000 employees and two business segments. With its global production sites, R&D, and service locations, MC is close to its customers and at home in a wide range of industries.

At our factory network Siemens AG develops and manufactures electric motors for the global market. Our target customers are in the field of automation technology, in the automotive industry and in the field of intra-logistics. To further drive our successful growth, we will expand our locations in a targeted manner over the next few years. The topics of digitalization and simulations support us in planning for the future and in implementation.

Based in Oradea, we are looking for a Head of Engineering to manage all production related engineering activities (e.g. equipment layout, workflow design, introduction of new equipment and products and accidental prevention measures)

What part will you play?

1.     People Management & Development

·         Hiring and Onboarding: Recruiting, interviewing, and integrating new engineers into the team.

·         Performance Management: Setting clear expectations, conducting performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, and managing performance improvement plans.

·         Career Development: Mentoring team members, identifying growth opportunities, and helping them achieve their career goals (e.g., through training, new assignments, or promotions).

·         Team Motivation & Engagement: Fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture, resolving conflicts, and ensuring high morale.

·         Resource Allocation: Assigning engineers to projects based on their skills, interests, and project needs.

2.      Project Management & Execution

  • Planning & Strategy: Collaborating with production managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and timelines.

·         Execution Oversight: Monitoring project progress, identifying potential roadblocks, and ensuring the team is on track to meet deadlines and quality standards.

·         Risk Management: Proactively identifying and mitigating technical and project risks.

·         Process Improvement: Continuously looking for ways to optimize development processes, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and quality.

·         Communication: Acting as a primary point of contact for project updates, communicating progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders.

3.     Technical Leadership & Strategy

  • Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Providing technical direction, helping solve complex technical problems, and ensuring architectural integrity and code quality.

·         Technology Adoption: Staying abreast of new technologies and industry trends, and evaluating their potential application within the team or organization.

·         Quality Assurance: Ensuring that the team adheres to best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.

·         Architectural Input: Contributing to the design and architecture of systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

·         Innovation: Encouraging experimentation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

· Coordinate the innovation and digitalization team (e.g. Process Planning, automation & test engineer, manufacturing technologies.

· Implement Process Planning and Industrial Engineering guidelines and procedures, and develop and implement related processes, methods and/or tools.

· Ensure the design for testability and manufacturability of products and the design, realization and optimization of manufacturing & test solutions, technologies and processes.

· Drive simultaneous engineering to reduce development times of new products and increase the alignment of production and development.

· Analyze technical manufacturing or logistics processes and sequences and propose improvements projects. Develop performance improvement initiatives and implement related technical infrastructure.

· Liaise with other engineering functions, external vendors or service providers.

· Manage overall ramp-up phase for mission critical equipment and machines and approves respective work deliveries.

· Ensure process documentation.

What you need to make real what matters.

· University degree in technical field: Machines Construction Technology / Electro-Mechanics.

· Proven experience in process planning and industrial engineering management. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.

· Expertise in process planning, layout design, and workflow optimization.

· Proficiency in industrial engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., time studies, capacity planning, value stream mapping).

· Project management expertise.

· Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in all production-related engineering activities (e.g. equipment layout, workflow design, and accidental prevention measures)

· Ability to drive organizational change and process optimization

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

· Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities

· Strategic thinking with attention to operational details
