As a Senior Platform Architect / Lead Developer (f/m/d), you will help shape the software foundation for our next generation of Physical AI Level 2 Skills for industrial applications in China. You will work closely with our existing Physical AI Platforms team in Suzhou and contribute to building scalable capabilities around:
Picking
Placing
Motion planning
Robot drivers and connectivity
Integration with Chinese robot vendors and local ecosystem partners
In this role, you will combine hands-on software architecture with deep technical leadership. You will define robust integration concepts, shape reusable platform components, and ensure our robotics software stack can connect efficiently to a broad range of robot controllers, peripherals, and industrial systems in the China market.
If you enjoy turning technical complexity into scalable software architecture and want to help shape the future of industrial robotics in one of the world’s most dynamic robotics ecosystems, this role is for you.

Key responsibilities
Defining the technical architecture for Level 2 Physical AI capabilities with a focus on picking, placing, and motion planning
Designing and implementing reusable software components for robot drivers, connectivity layers, and vendor integration
Establishing clean interfaces between robotics skills, perception, planning modules, runtime services, and industrial automation systems
Driving integration strategies for Chinese robot vendors, controllers, and related edge/peripheral systems
Working closely with the Suzhou Physical AI Platforms team to align architecture and implementation across existing and new product capabilities
Supporting the creation of scalable software foundations for future extension toward broader robotics and Physical AI use cases
Contributing hands-on to implementation where needed, especially in early-stage architecture, prototypes, and key technical components
Guiding developers through code reviews, architecture decisions, engineering standards, and best practices
Collaborating with product, portfolio, partner, and customer-facing stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are market-relevant and deployable
Supporting technical discussions with partners and customers in the Chinese robotics ecosystem

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science, Robotics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Studying abroad is a plus. but not required.
6+ years of professional experience in software architecture, robotics software, industrial automation software, or distributed systems
Strong experience with robotics platforms, motion planning, runtime integration, or robot control-related software
Good understanding of software architecture for device connectivity, drivers, middleware, APIs, and scalable integration layers
Strong programming experience in languages such as C++, Python, and/or other relevant robotics or systems languages
Experience integrating robots, controllers, sensors, cameras, or industrial devices into larger software systems
Practical understanding of industrial robotics use cases such as pick-and-place, cell automation, or robot application deployment
Ability to balance strategic architecture with pragmatic implementation

Preferred qualifications
Experience with Chinese robot vendors, robotics OEM ecosystems, or local system integrators
Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, robot SDKs, industrial middleware, edge software, or motion-planning frameworks
Experience with industrial communication and connectivity patterns
Background in scalable product/platform development rather than one-off project delivery only
Exposure to AI-enabled robotics, perception systems, or Physical AI-related architecture
Experience working at a multinational corporation (MNC) is a plus.

Languages
Fluency in English and Chinese
German is a plus, but not required

Ways of working
You are technically curious, structured, and hands-on
You can lead through expertise and collaboration, not only through formal authority
