General Summary of the Job:
As part of the software sales organization, participate in the Presales process to facilitate sales of software with a focus of landing new customer business and expanding the install base at existing customers. Engage with potential and existing customers to understand customer needs and high-level requirements as part of the sales effort.
Applying knowledge of customer business needs, engineering and manufacturing processes, support product and solution positioning by preparing and delivering demonstrations of the technical capabilities of the proposed solutions to customers using standard material. Speak with authority on our customer's business challenges, and how DI SW can improve their business using standard company messaging, aligned with the Account Orchestrator.
Works on projects/assignments of basic to moderate scope. Typically works under self-management on assignment/projects.
Essential Functions:
Solution and Business Consulting
- Be the domain Expert for DI SW technical solutions for our Data Analytics and AI platform.
- In partnership with Account Orchestrator and Technical Account Manager, support efforts to develop customer
- relationships, and contribute to the achievement of sales pursuit milestones for customer engagements.
- Support the selection of appropriate suites of technology and proposal development for customer process
- improvement which ensure the interoperability and effectiveness of the overall solution within the context of the
- customer's business and use these to support in Proof-of-Concept activities with the customer.
- Support activities in the design and development of appropriate responses to customer Requests for Proposals /
- Requests for Information / Unsolicited Proposals, as part of sales effort.
- Build and deliver DISW project pilot environments (on laptop, VM or on Cloud).
- Communicate sales, presales and customers’ needs to other internal organizations such as operations management,
- product development and marketing.
- Where appropriate, communicate with the implementation / project team, articulating customer requirements, to ensure
- smooth transition from PreSales to Global Customer Outcomes.
Demonstrating, Presenting and Positioning Technology
- Engage with potential and existing customers to understand customer needs and high-level requirements as part of
- the sales effort.
- Educate customers on the features, functions, and business benefits of DISW products and solutions and answer
- questions on capabilities and usage and solve sales and customer problems.
General:
- Maintain the integrity of Siemens and support organizational culture, values, and reputation
- Undertaking required personal administration for role including timely expenses
- Uphold and enforce Siemens compliance, health and safety and quality requirements
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the company
Knowledge of the following
- Deep understanding of Data Science & Machine Learning concepts (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, regression, classification, NLP).
- Hands-on proficiency with the RapidMiner platform (Studio for workflow design, AI Hub for operationalization).
- Experience with the full data science lifecycle (data prep, feature engineering, model building, deployment, monitoring).
- Strong grasp of analytics techniques and their application to business problems.
- Familiarity with various data sources and database concepts (SQL, NoSQL, cloud data platforms).
- Ability to design and build proof-of-concept (POC) solutions using RapidMiner.
- Programming skills in Python or R for custom scripting and advanced integrations (preferred).
- Hands on experience using LLMs and API integration (preferred)
Basic knowledge of the following

Education and Experience:
- Relevant local University degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering (or lower qualification with relevant work
- experience)
- minimum 3 years of Manufacturing and/or Engineering Software Sales experience
- SaaS Sales experience
- Industry Experience in one or more of the following: Automotive, Consumer Goods (F&B), Aerospace, Industrial Machinery, etc.
- Previous Sales or PreSales experience
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Normal office or home office environment with travel to customer sites
- Must be willing and available to work the core hours required
